Mrs. Alice Laraine Eddy Foss, age 70 of Winfield, formerly of Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Foss and her husband Arlen were self employed dairy farmers in Wisconsin before their retirement in Winfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dowel Eddy and Donnie Hudson Eddie, a sister, Janice Eddy, brothers, Berlin, Erskine, Dale, Ellie Hugh, Eugene, Junior and Carl Raymond Eddy, and a grandson Travis Gudgeon. Mrs. Foss is survived by her husband, Arlen Foss Sr., a daughter, Sherry (Carl) Gudgeon of Viroqua, WS, two sons, Arlen Foss Jr. of Rockford, IL, and Arvin (Jodi) Foss of Winfield, her grandchildren, Brandon Gudgeon, Jenna Gudgeon, Tasha Foss, Kara Foss, Zachary Foss, Isaac Foss, Alyssa Foss, Kaylee Foss, and Noah Foss, 7 great grandchildren and another on the way, a sister, Irene Dees (Donnie Wright) of Rockford, IL, and a brother, Gerald Ray (Patsy) Eddy of Rockford, IL and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8th from the Brilliant Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Goldmine Cemetery. Greg Lowery will officiate. Mary Jo McCollum Wilson age 75 of Bazemore, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday April 28, 2018 in the Grandview Medical Center in Hoover, Alabama.  Mary Jo was a strong, sassy and straight to the point lady with her words. She was born Mary Jo McCollum on October 3, 1942 and was the fourth daughter of Mr. Raymond and Mrs. Willie Nell McCollum. Mary Jo was raised and resided in Bazemore, Alabama and attended West Highland High School in Fayette, Alabama. She was a member of Piney Grove Church of Christ in Glen Allen, Alabama.  Mary Jo learned the value of hard work at a young age, always working as often as she could up to her last days on earth. Mary Jo enjoyed her work, loyally laboring for over 40 years and through four administrations at the Winfield Hospital. When she wasn’t at work, she enjoyed shopping with her childhood friend, Betty June Johnson.  Mary Jo was a single mother for most of her life. She is survived by five of her children, Roy Rodgers, Jr. of Northport, Floyd Rodgers (Carolyn) of Madison, Scott Wilson of Ft. Riley, KS, Emilio Wilson of Pleasant Prairie, WI and Roy Wilson, Jr (Monique) of Chesapeake, VA, three sisters, Dean Hollingsworth of Winfield, Bonnie McCollum and Helen McCollum of Bazemore, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Willie Nell Blanchard McCollum, a daughter, Regina Rodgers and her sister Hazel McCollum.  Funeral services for Mary Jo will be held on Thursday May 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel.   Mary Jo will be laid to rest in the McCollum Family Cemetery in Bazemore, Alabama. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 2, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Bowen Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Willie “Mack” Godsey, age 70, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at his residence.  Mack worked in the coal industry for 33 years. He is survived by his wife of 48 years 3 months and 16 days, Nettie Godsey of Winfield, son, Waylon Godsey of Jasper, daughter Tawana McCrory of Russellville, grandchildren, Carter and Elizabeth Godsey and Hayden McCrory, very special friends, Chris Gilmore and Jill Alston and a host of relatives and close friends. Mr. Godsey is preceded in death by his mother, Willie Belle Bailey Godsey. Mrs. Nannie B Dozier, age 86, of the Hubbertville community, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 surrounded by her family, in the UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Nannie B is preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Daisy Sprinkle Brazil, her husband, Verlon Dozier, brother, J. D. Brazil, granddaughter, Ashley Nichole Dozier and a sister in laws, Ruby Smith, Faye Beasley and brother in law, J.D.
