Mrs. Etta Louise Dodson Burleson, age 91, of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Fayette Long Term Care Center in Fayette.

Mrs. Burleson was born near Wayside, AL on January 19, 1929, the oldest of seven children to Eufaula B. Dodson and Lucy Belle Byars Dodson. Mrs. Burleson was a member of Winfield First Baptist Church and taught the 5-year-old Sunday School Class for 45 years. She graduated from Winfield City High School on May 5, 1947 and married her high school sweetheart, Billy Burleson, on May 15, 1947. On July 23, 1952 Mrs. Burleson accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Burleson was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She volunteered with the Keenagers, American Legion Aux, Northwest Medical Center gift shop and sang with the Senior Citizens Community Center.

She is survived by her children, Larry Burleson (Clara) of Columbus, MS, Bonita Logan (David) of Fayette and Debbie Mayfield (Marlin) of Hubbertville, a sister, Donna Harkins (Myrk) of Jasper, grandchildren, Brent Burleson, Ashley Ethridge (Noah), Heath Logan (Jamie), Chris Logan, Eddie Mayfield (Jenna), and Jennifer Clark (Kyler), nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Mrs. Burleson was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Burleson, her parents, Eufaula B. Dodson and Lucy Belle Byars Dodson, sisters, Mary Ruth Atkins and Martha Nell Olberg, brothers, Charlie Joe Dodson and Loran Byron Dodson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Burleson will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. Remington Colt Vickery, 14-month-old son of Eric Steven Vickery and Elizabeth Encelewski Harbin of Guin, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Northwest Medical Center. Remington is survived by half-sisters, Alisa Marie Carter and Hannah Leona Jane Vickery of Guin; grandparents, Fronda Vickery of Winfield and Rose Marie Encelewski of Hamilton; step grandfathers, Clayton Paul of Hamilton and Michael Drowdy of Florida; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 19th from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in West Alabama Memorial Gardens. Brayden Wallace Gardner, age 17 of Hamilton formerly of Winfield passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his residence. Brayden was born in Winfield, Alabama on May 6, 2003 to John Gardner and Lindy McCarley Gardner. He was a happy intelligent young man. Brayden was a junior at Hamilton High School, a straight “A” student and very athletic; he loved to play golf and won many tournaments. After high school he had plans to become a psychiatric nurse; this dream was to have an opportunity to help others struggling with emotional issues. Brayden greatest attribute was his “heart of gold” and a smile that would light up the room.

Brayden is survived by his parents, Lindy and Kyle Key of Winfield, sisters, Gabby Key, Lucie Gardner and Georgia Grace Gardner, his brothers and best friends, Gage Key and Greyson Key, grandparents, Helen McCarley of Hamilton, Ben McCarley of Hamilton, Tim & Myra Bray of Hamilton, Steve & Terrie Zinn of Winfield, Lester Jackson Gardner of Hamilton and Sonya Rye Key of Winfield, aunts, Cassie Berryhill (Brandon) of Winfield, Zoe Reese of Guin and an uncle, Daniel McCarley (Danikia) of SC, a host of cousins and other relatives, classmates and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, John Robert Gardner, and his grandparents, Bobby Lee Gardner, Christopher Key, Marvin “Bud” McCarley, Clarence & Lucy McClung.

Funeral services for Brayden will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be on Sunday the 20th beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. John Milford Harris, Jr, age 71 of Guin passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his residence. John was born in Brilliant, Alabama on January 3, 1949 to John Harris, Sr. and Dorothy Harris. John was a 1967 graduate of Winfield City High School. Mr. Harris was champion Roller Skater, and always a hard worker. He loved his family, his friends, and watching Alabama Football.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Milford Harris, Sr. and Dorothy Lucille Kimbrell Harris, son, Jamie Lee Harris, daughters, Lyndy Harris and Dorothy Annette Harris and a brother, Tommy Harris. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Gould (Travis) of Guin, daughters, Kimberly Ferguson (Gary) of Odenville, Belinda Nichole Harris of Guin and Cyndy Black of MS, grandchildren, Ashlyn Paige Harris, Veronica Dingler (Doug), Zackery Alexander, Kaitlynn Briana Harris, Jamie Ethen Harris, Jarret Henderson, Sarah Beth Martin, Emily Henderson, Samantha Sandlin (Nathan), Austin Benton (Jessica), and host of great great grandchildren, niece, Kathy Childers, nephews, Jacky Harris (Bobbie) and Dillon Gould (Amber) great niece, Kristen Ingram (Steven), great nephew, Lane Harris and a host of other relatives and friends.
