Barbara Faye Bussey, age 78 of Winfield passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in the Diversicare Health Care Center in Winfield.
Barbara was born on October 8, 1942 in Winfield, AL to Benny L. and Annie Lou Bussey. She was a 1961 graduate of Winfield City High School. Barbara was employed for 20 years with the Winfield Public Library and retired in 2004 from the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield after over 20 years of service in the dietary department.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty A. Miles and Bennie Lou Spann, nieces, Vanessa M. Brewer (Dan), Crystal Bussey, Pamela Davis, Renna Boman, Michelle McDowell, a host of great nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A private family service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from the Bowen Funeral Home with burial in the Winfield City Cemetery. Mr. Ted Lemaris Raburn, age 83 of Winfield passed away on Monday July 5, 2021 at his residence. Ted was born on January 28, 1938 in Winfield, AL to Hershel and Sammie Raburn. He was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and the Winfield Masonic Lodge #304. Mr. Raburn was a 1956 graduate of Winfield City High School, a Veteran of the Army National Guard and retired from the 3M Company after 36 years of service.
Mr. Raburn is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Beverly Raburn, children, Michael Raburn, Dwayne Raburn, and Cathy Rayburn, grandchildren, Alex Raburn, Gill Chaffin, Melanie Carter, Chris Chaffin, Tess Raburn, John Raburn, Kaleb Blackburn, Nathan Bowling and Madison Bowling, siblings, Lynn (Brenda) Raburn and Marilyn (David) Duncan, sons-in-law, Jesse Rivers and Ronnie Chaffin, daughters-in-law, Donna Raburn, Tracy Raburn, and Tamera Bowling. Ted was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Raburn Chaffin, parents, Hershel Raburn and Sammie Shirey Raburn, stepmother, Grace Hopkins Raburn, and his grandparents, G. C. and Minnie Raburn and Mancel and Margie Bates Shirey.
Funeral services for Mr. Raburn will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Judy Lynn Fonder Stokes, age 65 of Sulligent passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at her daughter’s residence.
Judy was born on January 18,1956 in California to James and Betty Brennecke Fonda. Mrs. Stokes was a character and enjoyed listening to the “Beatles” especially “Imagine”.
Judy is survived by her husband, James “Jimmy” Stokes, daughters, Stephanie Conner (Jason) of Winfield, Ashley Nellis (Bruce Williams) of Sulligent, sons, Donald Pupak of Winfield and Kevin Pupak of Oregon, grandchildren, Austin, Haley, Jeremiah, Brooklyn, and Bryson, sisters, Kay Fonder, Theresa Vaughn, Holly Williams (Greg), Michelle Rose (Henry), brothers, Larry Fonder (Barbara), James Fonder (Jenny), Tork Fonder (Sue), and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Betty L. Fonder, a son, Chad Maine, nephew, Michael Fonder, great nephew, Logan Fonder and a son-in law, James Vaughn.
A memorial service for Mrs. Stokes will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to; Amedisys Hospice of Hamilton.

Mr. Garry O’Neal Dozier age 67, of the Wayside Community passed away Thursday July 1, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Dozier was born on March 30, 1954 in Guntersville Al. to Grady and Betty Jean Dozier. Garry was a member of the Wayside Church. He spent most of his life working as an iron worker, a coal truck driver, and a carpenter.
Garry is survived by his wife, Connie Miles Dozier, two daughters, Michelle Dozier Hollis (Ron Norris), and Raven Dozier Perry (Nathaniel), his mother, Betty Jean Robbins Dozier, four sisters, Teresa Stricklin (Phillip), Donna Nix (Gene), Debby Reed (Steve) and Sherry Porter, two brothers, Jeff Dozier (Aleta), and Bill Dozier (Pam), grandchildren, Meagan Joyce Hollis (Landon Snow), Robert “Neal” O’Neal Hollis, and Cameron Drake Perry,
Mr. Dozier was preceded in death by his father, Grady Lee Dozier Jr., a brother, Danny Ray Dozier, and grandparents, Grady Sr. and Loraine Busbee Dozier, and Theodore “Ted” and Ora Mae Nell Robbins.
Gary was blessed with many special friends throughout his life including, his Wayside Church family, Junior and Kim Travis, Betsy Walker of Charlotte, North Carolina, Chip Hollis, and Tia Doss (staff member of Hospice of Northwest Alabama).
