Mrs. Paula Kay Vintson Atkinson, age 55 of Brilliant, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020, at her residence. Was born April 11, 1965 to Jack and Ramona Vintson, and was a 1983 graduate of Brilliant High School.
Paula is survived by her biological son, Samuel Jack Vintson, sisters, Pam Hawkins (Larry) of Guin, Tina Darty (Mark) of Brilliant and their son Samuel, nephews, Jassen Tidwell (Ava) of Tuscaloosa, Robert and Jacob Hawkins, niece, Dana Harbin (Randall) of Nauvoo, great nieces, Lauren and Carmen Tidwell, great nephews, Dylan Harbin (Jessica), Garret Harbin and a great great nephew, Jeremiah Harbin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Atkinson, parents, Jack Vintson and Ramona “Sis” Flippo Vintson and a nephew, Nicholas Hawkins.
A graveside service for Paula will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Vintson-Atkinson family.
Mr. Kenneth Earl Aldridge, age 81 of Rock City, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Aldridge was born on May 10, 1939 in Marion County to William Gray Aldridge and Lorene Weeks Aldridge. He was a 1956 graduate of Winfield City High School and owner of K & E Trucking. Kenneth enjoyed deep sea fishing, gardening, and spending Saturday afternoons watching Alabama Football with his wife, Ettie.
Mr. Aldridge is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Ettie Mae Clark Aldridge, children, Lisa Carper (Linn) of Guin, Janet Studdard (Mark) of Winfield and Adam Aldridge (Crystal) of Rock City, grandchildren, Adan, Alex, Beau, Bart (Michelle), Sara (Jonathon), Holly (Ricky) and Eric, great grandchildren, Kolt, Brody, Peyton, Lyla Jane, Jonathan, Nick, Bryson, Carter, Bayle and Ana, brother, Joe Aldridge (Kathy) of Rock City and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lorene Aldridge, sister, BeBe Aldridge Spann and brothers, Thomas, Larry and Jerry Aldridge.
Funeral service for Mr. Aldridge will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Mr. Johnny Wilson Bradley, age 79 of Winfield in the Rock City community, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Johnny was born December 17, 1940 in Russellville, AL to Marion Ambrous Bradley and Myrtle Pauline Clemmons Bradley. He was a member of the Rock City Church of God and worked in the coal mines for many years.
Mr. Bradley is survived by his wife, Miriam Bradley, daughter, Carlinda Bradley Ray (Nicky), son, Wilson Lee Bradley (Robin), grandchildren, Nichole Puckett (Daniel), Zack (Jessica) Knight, Shawn Bradley, Alexandria “Boo” Bradley, Samuel Ray, Chloe Ray and a close and special family friend, Jimmy Atkinson, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Box Bradley, his parents, Marion and Myrtle Bradley, sisters, Lucille Nix, Christeen Bates, Retha Mae West, Frances Huckaba and Willie A. Bradley.
Funeral services for Mr. Bradley will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Griggs Place Cemetery. Wendell Kimbrell and Fred Baccus will be the officiating ministers. The visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) from at the funeral home. Ms. Florine Dodd Wilson, age 80 of Winfield formerly of Moline, IL passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the Diversicare Health Care Facility in Winfield, AL. Florine was born on January 19, 1940 to Cluster Dodd and Siller Ann Dodd. Ms. Wilson was employed with, Quad-City Die Casting Co., Service Rubber Co., and a driver with MetroLINK, all in the Quad City area of Moline, IL.
Florine is survived by her sons, Dewayne Black (Melissa) of Winfield, AL, and Jamie Barnes (Angie Loebach) of Andalusia, IL, grandchildren, David Black (April Rosenberg) of Moline, IL, Olivia Hines of Fayetteville, NC, Jennifer Black of Guin, AL, Amanda Williams (Kevin) of Hamilton, AL, Jessica Black of Guin, AL, Melissa Suits Littrell and Brandt Cooper both of IL, sister, Earline Brown (John) of Beaverton, AL and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cluster and Siller Ann Dodd, son, David Black, granddaughter, Tara Black and a brother, Sonny Dodd.
The funeral service for Ms. Wilson was held on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 2:45p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Natural Bridge, AL. Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home.
