Mrs. Connie Darnell Cochran Autrey, age 69 of Winfield passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 at her residence.  Mrs. Autrey was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Jewel Skinner Cochran, grandparents. John and Hester Skinner Elgar, Clev and Timpie Cochran, sister in law, Diane Cochran, and fathers in law, Ray Autrey and Howard Farley.  She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Tommy Autrey of Winfield, her children, Tracey (Greg) Harris, Tanya (Shane) Cabiness, Dusty (Tasha) Roberts, and Tyler Autrey, her siblings, Donna (Butch) Belcher, Betty Pennington (David Duke), Frieda Cochran (Jeff Martin), Pam (Todd) Holley, Alfred (Glenda) Cochran, and Elvis Cochran, grandchildren, Jacob (Tomie) Shiflet, Brandon (Tori) Shiflet, Kyle Sanderson, Kaleb Harris, Taylor (Wesley) Porter, Hallie Clark, and Devon Clark, Gavin Roberts and Cailey Roberts, six great grandchildren and her mother in law, Mary Ann Farley.  Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens.  The visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Autrey family.

Mrs. Dessie “Inez” Tidwell, age 81, of Carbon Hill in the Kansas community, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Tidwell was born July 24,1937 to Wilburn McWhirter and Ada Heathcock.

She is survived by her son, Mike Tidwell (Juanita), grandchildren, Mikey Tidwell, Christy Tidwell, Jennifer Concord, Sandra Tidwell, Kristal Dodd, Joesph Tidwell, Ada Tidwell, James Tidwell, twelve great grandchildren, a sister, Joyce Benton, two brothers, Hubert and Travis McWhirter and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Ada McWhirter, husband, E. J. Tidwell, two sons, John Allen Tidwell and Paul Tidwell, and a grandson, Adam Tidwell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Tidwell Chapel cemetery. Mrs. Lora Corene Higginbotham, age 86 of Cullman, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the Cullman Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Higginbotham was born on May 2, 1933 in Russellville, AL to Luther and Gladys Bishop. Lora was a graduate of Phil Campbell High School and worked for many years as a bookkeeper.

Mrs. Higginbotham is survived by her children, Cheryl Ann Smith Rasbury (Jeff) of Cullman and Mason Smith (Martha) of Phil Campbell, grandchildren, Clint Smith (Heather), Matt Smith, Natalie Henson (Clay) and Lauren Rasbury, great grandchildren, Samantha Franklin (Jabbar), Allie, Zeth, Teresa and Lora Smith, Sydney (Eli) Snider, Braedon and Katie Smith, Preston and Vince Henson, great great grandchildren, Bentley Franklin and Kenden Snider, sister, Doris Sinyard of Trussville and her special friend, Doug Birdyshaw of Decatur. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Bishop and Gladys West Bishop, her husbands, J. V. “Bud” Smith, Fred Robinson and Jim Higginbotham.

Funeral serviced for Mrs. Higginbotham will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from the Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville. Billy Quinn will be the officiating minister. The visitation will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at Pinkard Funeral Home. Mrs. Martha Lou Corbett Silas, age 74, of Guin in the Twin Community, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at her residence. Martha was born March 10, 1945 to Jim and Ada Corbett. 

Mrs. Silas is survived by her children, Tonya Silas Dodd (Jeff) of Hamilton and Darrell Silas (Kristy) of Twin, grandchildren, Casey Silas, Shelby Silas, and Brady Dodd, great grandchild, Riley Silas, and one on the way, Kamden Bruce Silas, a sister, Colene Everett Bunn of Fayette, brothers, Ed Bowen of Fayette, Marion Corbett (Edwina) of Winfield and Robert Corbett (Jettie) of Winfield and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Bruce Silas, her parents, Jim Corbett and Ada Head Bowen Corbett, sister, Betty Green, and brothers, Tom Bowen and Johnny Bowen.

Funeral services for Mrs. Silas will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the New Hope Church of Christ near Guin with burial to follow in the Center Cemetery near Brilliant. Bobby Wright will be the officiating minister. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel.
