Mr. Leburn Don Stovall, age 77 of Winfield, passed away, Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Don was born on October 23, 1942 to Daniel Leburn Stovall and Mattie Ruth Pollard Stovall. Mr. Stovall was a member of the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church. Don was a 1961 graduate of Brilliant High School. Don worked several years in strip mining and Continental Conveyor Company. Mr. Stovall was also Marion County Commissioner for District 4 for many years.
Mr. Stovall is survived by his two sons, Donny Stovall (Angie) and Scott Stovall, three grandchildren, Hagen (Meg), Payton (fiancé, Megan James) and Kaylee Stovall, a brother, Roger Stovall (Gloria) and a brother in law, Larry Smith. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Ann Stovall, parents, Daniel and Mattie Stovall a sister, Diann Smith and brother Bobby Gene Stovall.

Mrs. Alice Faye Archie Lacey, age 62 of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. Alice was born in Carbon Hill, AL on May 15, 1958 to Jimmy Archie Sr. and Lillie Pearl Archie. Mrs. Lacey was a member of the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Fayette. Alice was a 1976 graduate of Carbon Hill High School and attended Walker State Technical College in Sumiton and Bevill State Community College and graduated with a CDA certificate in Child Development. Upon completion of her college studies, Alice was employed with the Birmingham News until her retirement. Mrs. Lacey is survived by her children, Sedrick Stewart (Keeyontaye) of Birmingham, Tamera Nazareth (Michael) of Charlotte, NC, Jermaine Stewart (Deanna) of Omaha, NE, Roberta Vickerstaff (Brian) of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Sidney and Julia Stewart, Jason and Kynedy Thompson, Brian Vickerstaff, II., Elora and Jude Nazareth, Alanah, Asher, Alyssa and Aleicha Stewart, sisters, Essie Johnson, Ella Mae Stoudemire, Barbara McCall, Betty Burton, Linda Bogan, brothers, Grover, Johnny, Luther Andrew and Ricky Archie, and a host of nieces, nephews and church family and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Tremaine Stewart, parents, Jimmy Archie, Sr. and Lillie Pearl Bailey Archie, sisters, Ethel Pearl Archie, Addie Dean Boone, Daisy Sylvester and a brother, Jimmy Archie, Jr. A memorial service for Mrs. Lacey will be announced at a later date. John Glenn Heathcock better known as Johnny, age 51 of Guin formerly of Hubbertville, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral services for Johnny will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Kelley Cemetery in Eldridge. Brother Mark Maddox will be the officiating minister. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Etta Louise Dodson Burleson, age 91, of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Fayette Long Term Care Center in Fayette.
Mrs. Burleson was born near Wayside, AL on January 19, 1929, the oldest of seven children to Eufaula B. Dodson and Lucy Belle Byars Dodson. Mrs. Burleson was a member of Winfield First Baptist Church and taught the 5-year-old Sunday School Class for 45 years. She graduated from Winfield City High School on May 5, 1947 and married her high school sweetheart, Billy Burleson, on May 15, 1947. On July 23, 1952 Mrs. Burleson accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Burleson was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She volunteered with the Keenagers, American Legion Aux, Northwest Medical Center gift shop and sang with the Senior Citizens Community Center.
She is survived by her children, Larry Burleson (Clara) of Columbus, MS, Bonita Logan (David) of Fayette and Debbie Mayfield (Marlin) of Hubbertville, a sister, Donna Harkins (Myrk) of Jasper, grandchildren, Brent Burleson, Ashley Ethridge (Noah), Heath Logan (Jamie), Chris Logan, Eddie Mayfield (Jenna), and Jennifer Clark (Kyler), nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
Mrs. Burleson was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Burleson, her parents, Eufaula B. Dodson and Lucy Belle Byars Dodson, sisters, Mary Ruth Atkins and Martha Nell Olberg, brothers, Charlie Joe Dodson and Loran Byron Dodson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Burleson will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens.
