Mr. Roger Dale Rye, age 76, of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in the Northwest Medical Center. Mr. Rye was born in Fayette, Alabama on August 12, 1947 to Coy Cecil and Johnnie Louise Seaborn Rye. Roger was an active member of the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church and sang with the praise group for many years. He was a 1965 graduate of Marion County High School. Roger was employed with 3M Company as a Shipping Controller until his retirement after 35 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed cattle farming, going to cattle sales, church activities, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Rye is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorthy Motes Rye, daughters, Ginny Walker (Tim), and Susan Lockhart (Allen), grandson Timothy Walker (Chasidy), great-grandson, Hollin John Walker, sisters, Wanda Gilliland and Patsy Gunter, brother, Danny Rye, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Mr. Rye was preceded in death by his parents, Coy Cecil and Johnnie Louise Rye.
Funeral services for Mr. Rye will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carol Ann Brasseal, age 73, of Guin passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 in the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham. Mrs. Brasseal was born on April 26, 1950 to Billy and Robbie Peoples Holcomb. She was a member of the Center United Methodist Church and a 1968 graduate of Brilliant High School. Carol was employed with 3M Company of Guin where she worked for more than 15 years until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed attending church, reading, working puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Brasseal is survived by her son, Samuel Ward Brasseal and his wife Stacy, a host of grandchildren, a sister, Regina Anderson and her brother, Randy Holcomb.
Mrs. Brasseal was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Terry Brasseal, her parents, and a brother Gary Holcomb.
A memorial service for Mrs. Brasseal will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Centery Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rebecca Ann Sanderson Jones, better Known as Becky, age 66, of Brilliant passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 in the Northwest Medical Center. Becky was born on December 6, 1957 in Winfield, Alabama to George Junior and Geneva Mills Sanderson. She was a member of the Brilliant Methodist Church and a 1976 graduate of Brilliant High School. Becky spent much of her life employed as a Pharmacy Tech with Wakefield Pharmacy. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events and watching Brilliant and Auburn football.
Becky is survived by her son, Wesley Jones, grandchildren, Morgan Jones and Anna Kate Burleson, great-grandchildren, Wilder Marcum and Jack Jones, sister, Amelia Hamric (Greg), a sister-in-law, Doris Sanderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby, Danny, George Jr., and Greg Sanderson, and great-nephew, Hollin Sanderson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Brilliant Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the church.

Mrs. Shelia Diann Gann, age 74 of Winfield passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 in the Sunset Heath Care Facility in Guin. Shelia was born in Winfield, Alabama on April 30, 1949 to Burney Lee Spann and Victoria Webb Spann. Shelia was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and a 1967 graduate of Hubbertville High School. Mrs. Gann was employed for many years in the textile industry, working with several companies in and around the Winfield area. Her most enjoyable job before retiring was taking care of children in her own home and at Happy Faces Daycare in Winfield. Mrs. Gann’s greatest achievement in life was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She was considered a “mom” to many others in her life.
Shelia is survived by her husband of nearly 54 years, Leland “Joe” Gann, her son, Joseph Gann, daughters, Diann Herron and her husband Jerry, and Amy Williams and her husband Jamie, grandchildren, Harley and Oakley Herron, Shelby, Hudson and Peyton Williams, a sister, Judy Norris, brothers, Harold Spann, Steve Spann and Dale Spann (Benny Lou), sister-in-law, Jannette Spann, a special niece, Victoria Gann and a host of other nieces, nephews, church family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Faye Spann, Annie Lee Bean, Edna Powell, Edward Fowler, Everette Fowler, Marshall, Dewight and Mike Spann and Jane Webster.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gann will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Goodwater Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
