Mr. Samuel Barnes, better known as Sam, age 86 of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in the Diversicare Heath Care Center in Winfield. Mr. Barnes was born in Fayette County Alabama on October 21, 1936 to LeRoy and Ora Mae McKay Barnes. Sam was employed in the coal industry for 33 years. He enjoyed Alabama football, coon hunting, and spending time with his family.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Shelby Jean Guyton Barnes, children, Jeanie Barnes Barnett, Tim Barnes, Steve Barnes, Curt Barnes and his wife Kristie and Tabatha Barnes McMillan and her husband Wade, grandchildren, Brandy Nix (Coty), Janae Moore (Matt), Jarrod Barnes, Justin Barnes (Houston), Laikon McMillan, Brooke Barnes (fiancé, Bryant Abston), Lane McMillan, Alexis Barnes, Kelby Smith (Krissa) and Kamron Smith (fiancé, Jamie Jackson), great grandchildren, Reily, Ryder, Saylor Kate, Austin, Avery, Mattison, Mattox, Mattleigh Joy, Matti June, Lennox and Oakland, sister, Lounell Barnes Cagle, brothers, Eugene Barnes and Wiley Barnes (Maxine) and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Dorothy Elliott, Betty Jo Willett, Joyce Ann Rose, Nelda Sue Barnes, Judy Gulley, Allean Guin and Ruth Tittle, brothers, Jessie Lee, James, Ilene, Floyd, and Boyd Barnes.
Funeral services for Mr. Barnes will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time.

Mr. Dallas Dewayne Bowling, age 53 of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in the U.A.B. Medical Center in Birmingham. Dallas was born in Illinois on September 30, 1969 to John C. Bowling and Geneva Patton Bowling. He was previously employed as an inspector with Tiffin Motor Homes. He was preceded in death by his parents, his adoptive parents, Norman and Bertha Schindel, and a brother Greg Bowling. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Brock Bowling, his children, Jackson Spain, Lilly Bowling, Dorian Bowling, and Liam Bowling, his sisters, Fronda Haney (Roger), Kelly (Bob) Fenoff, Connie Sheryl Bowling, and Regina Stovall, his brothers, Steve (Debbie) Bowling, Joe (Kristin) Bowling, and Nathan (Brandy) Bowling, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Dallas will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18th from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Monday evening July 17th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Joyce Ann Sims Blisard, age 77 of Guin passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 in the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Ms. Blisard was born on February 22, 1946 in Fayette County Alabama to Rass and Bethel Wyers Sims.
Ms. Blisard was a member of the Church of Christ. She was the owner/operator of Joyce’s Barber Shop in Fayette for over 30 years. Joyce Ann enjoyed working in her flowers and sewing.
She is survived by her son, Steven Franks, brothers, Tommy Sims (Joyce), and Jacky Sims, and her special friend, Jimmy Lee.
Joyce Ann was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Barbara Cross, Doris Trelford, Patricia Henderson, brothers, Donald Sims, Roy Sims, Lanual and Thanual Sims.
Funeral services for Ms. Blisard will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the New River Church of Christ Cemetery near Hubbertville. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time.

Mrs. Hilda Deweese Dudley, age 77, of Winfield passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at her residence. Mrs. Dudley was born May 27, 1946 in Berry, AL to William and Mattie Willis Kimbrell. She was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church of Fayette. Hilda was a 1964 graduate of Fayette County High School. She was employed for more than 20 years as a GED Instructor for the Adult Education Program. In her spare time Hilda enjoyed baking and cooking. Hilda also enjoyed sewing, she was a very talented seamstress, often making clothes for her daughter and family.
Mrs. Dudley is survived by her son, Alan Dudley (Melinda) of Northport, daughter, Susan Gray (Kenneth) of Fayette, grandchildren, Jade Dudley (Connie Wright), Jasmine Jones (Landron), Telisa Clark (Nathaniel), Connor Dudley (Sammi Pulis), and Jacey Kaye Dudley, great-grandchildren, Adam Cunningham, Thomas Cunningham, Elina Clark, Tanna Clark, Grayce Cunningham, Destiny Clark, Chaz Jones, Rawlings Jones, Charlie Pulis, and Cammi Dudley, siblings, Sharon Wallace (Roger), Gary Kimbrell (Martha), and Denise Smith (Donald), brother-in-law, Eddie Strickland, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dudley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dudley, granddaughter, Michaela Dudley, and a sister, Karen Strickland.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dudley will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with a graveside service to follow in the Springhill Cemetery near Bluff. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
