Mr. Douglas Leland Doss better known as Doug, age 82, of the Bazemore community passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Doss was born in Winfield, Alabama on March 10, 1942 to Bob and Mary Jo May Doss. Doug attended Whites Chapel Church of Christ and was a 1961 graduate of Winfield City High School. He was employed with Reltoc Manufacturing for 10 years before moving to the Fayette County Commission where he worked as an equipment operator for 25 years until his retirement. In his spare time Doug was an avid hunter. He enjoyed being outdoors, he liked to collect ginger root, and could name any plant he ran across.

Mr. Doss is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maudie Dunavant Doss, brother Mike Doss (Betty) of Huntsville, and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews that he thought of as his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Mr. Doss was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Doss, and sisters, Becky Wood, Susan Cochran, and Ramona Keeton.

A graveside services for Mr. Doss will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Whites Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery.
