Mrs. Scarlett Markham Tidwell, age 39 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham.
Scarlett was a 1996 graduate of Winfield City High School and a 2001 graduate of The University of Alabama.
Scarlett loved her job as an English teacher and her students at Winfield Middle School and also at Bevill State Community College.
She was very involved with her community by serving in the Winfield chapter of BPW, Southern Women’s Society, and in Children’s Church at Winfield First Baptist Church.
Scarlett was loved by so many and touched countless lives, but her greatest love was for her family. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Daniel, and her 3 beautiful children, John Markham, Anna Claire and Allyn Caroline Tidwell, her parents, James & LaJuana Markham, her sister, Tara (Tony) Dickey, her grandmother, Dorothy Markham, mother in law, Gwen Tidwell (Bill), nieces and nephews, Caden & William Dickey, Dylan and Carlie Thacker, Tre, Jack, Peyton and Mavis Tidwell, brother in law, Junior (Rachel) Tidwell, sister in law, Crystal (Chris) Thacker and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. Junior Ray Markham, Mr. & Mrs. Troy & Katie Pate, father in law, Mr. Davy “Brunie” Tidwell and uncle, Mr. LaDon Pate.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Winfield First Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. Dr. Charlie Ballew & Dr. Paul Murphy will be the officiating ministers. Honorary minister will be Brother C.W. Box.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. service time. Burial will follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Citizens Bank of Winfield for a scholarship fund that will be created in her memory.

Mrs. Mary B. Mays, age 92 of Falkville, formally of Winfield, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017, in the USA Healthcare Center in Falkville.
Mrs. Mays is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. James A. and Gladys L. Busey Smith, her husband, Mr. William E. Mays, two sons, Terry L. and James Mays, sisters, Lillian Riffe and Dorothy Johnson and brothers, Henry and Charles Smith.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Diedrich of Illinois, Sheila Weber (Mike) of Texas, Mary Sue Yonkus (Bob) of Illinois and Duane Mays of Florida, sisters, Frances W. Ford of Winfield and Peggy Cox of Florida, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Jeffery Touchston will be the officiating minister.
Burial will follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Randa Guin Stuart, age 30 of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.
Randa is a 2005 graduate of Winfield City High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of West Alabama. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Sarah Catherine Box and Dale Ritchie Guin, an aunt, June Johnson and an uncle, Ronnie Guin. She is survived by her parents, Rita Box Guin of Winfield and Randall Guin of Guin, her sister Rachel Guin of Winfield, grandfather, Bro. C. W. Box of Winfield, aunts and uncles, Tommy Johnson & Family of Fayette, Neal Box & Family of Winfield, Sandra Moore & Family of Bankston, Keith Box & Family of Hamilton, David Box & Family of Winfield, Krista Goss & Family of Northport, Rhonda McDonald & Family of Winfield, Andrea Franks & Family of Glencoe, Darlene Peoples & Family of Guin, Ronald Ray Guin & Family of Guin, Jeremy Guin of Guin, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from the Harmony Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 27, 2017 starting at 6:00 p.m. at Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Steve Stamps, Brother Charlie Ballew and Brother Keith Box with be the officiating ministers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the WCHS class of 2005 and friends from The University of West Alabama.

Mr. Danny Lee Vaughn, age 54, of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in the Noland Hospital in Tuscaloosa. Danny is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Vaughn, and mother, Patsy Hoagland and stepfather, Elwin Hoagland, and nephew, Buddy Vaughn.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Marshall Vaughn of Winfield, daughters, Ashley Wise (Warren) of Hartselle, Alana Vaughn (Ryan Franks) of Winfield, Christie Reese (Sara Arnold) of Winfield, son, Josh Reese (Melissa) of Warren Robbins, GA and, grandchildren, Carly, Logan, Drew, Wesley, Skyler, Colten, Landyn, Parker, Jackson, Charlotte and Britton, brothers, David Vaughn (Janice) of Arab and Mitch Vaughn (Susan) of TX, sister, Deb Teter (John) of Arab and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held of Friday, October 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. (service time). Burial will follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.
