Mrs. Myrtle Louise Sprinkle, age 84, of Winfield, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 in the Sunset Manor Health Care Facility in Guin.

Mrs. Sprinkle was born on December 25, 1934 in Beaverton, AL to Elbert O. Smith and Bessie Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Coniles Vester Sprinkle, a daughter, Kathy J. Borton, a son, Roger D. Sprinkle, a granddaughter, Pamela Brown, great grand daughter, Katie Hines, sisters, Wynell Walton, Barbara Griffin and Katherine H. Taylor, brothers, William R. Smith and Joe R. Smith, and special friend, Bill Minor. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Seagraves (Danny) of Winfield, and her son, Vester “JR” Sprinkle (Jeff Garrett) of Guin, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, a sister, Frances Hubbert, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sprinkle will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Sprinkle family.

Mr. Arthur Rudolph Ewing, age 78, of Brilliant, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center. Mr. Ewing was born in Louisiana, Missouri on February 25, 1941 to Lester William Ewing and Lorene Mamie Meyers Ewing. Mr. Ewing was a mobile home escort driver for over 40 years, he enjoyed traveling and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patty Elmore Ewing of Brilliant, children, Tammy Meyers (Joe) of New Mexico, Marie Ramizer of New Mexico, and Arthur Jr. “Art” Ewing of Colorado, 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, a sister, Marsha Koetting (Dewayne) of Missouri, and two brothers, Tom Ewing of Illinois and Clay Ewing (Lori) of Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Richard and Leonard Ewing, a grandson, and a sister, Deanna Johnston. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from the Center United Methodist Church near Brilliant. Charles Dowell Nix, age 68, of Glen Allen, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his parents, Dowell and Earlene Wilcutt Nix, and a sister, Fannie Huguley Keebler. He is survived by his wife, Betty Marcum Nix, his children, Chadwick “Chad” Nix, Angela “Angie” Nix, Wade Nix, Charles "Shane" Nix, Chelsea Nix Watson (Jason), Danny (Ronda) Marcum, and Shannon (April) Marcum, grandchildren, Whitney, Kiley, Conner, Mason, Madison, Amber, Zoey, Zevin, and Isaac Nix, Devin (Anna Kate) Marcum, Makala (Heath Nix) Marcum, Erica Marcum and Chris Marcum, great grandchildren, Kaleena Nix, Ryder Nix, Addelyne West, Pyper West, Harper Nix, and Wilder Marcum, sisters, Peggy Barnhart (James), Judy Benton (Joe), and Jeanette Robinson, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2019 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Mary Florene “Flo” Johnson Carter, age 87, of Winfield passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Carter was born on November 6, 1931 in Opelika, AL, to Luther Hyatt Johnson and Beulah James Johnson. Flo was an active member of Central Church of Christ.  Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents, husband, R. J. Carter, sisters, Billie Rainwater, Mildred Dobbs and Myrdis James, bothers, Alfred James and Arther James and a grandchild, Jillian Carter. Flo is survived by her children, daughter, Lorrie Wyers (Phillip), sons, Larry Carter (Regina) and Randall Carter (Dawna), six grandchildren , Christy Cavender (Jimmy), Lee Carter (Charity), Steven Wyers, Scott Wyers (Sarah), Danielle Carter her fiancé, Kasey Hullett, and Kara Carter, and 10 great grandchildren, Madeline, Noah, Jason, Jenna, Makenna, Reese, Isabella, Kadie, Landon and Adaleigh. Funeral services for Mrs. Carter will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Bro.
