Mr. James "Bud" Curtis Self, age 81 of Brilliant, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Winfield. Mr. Self was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Lottie Dickinson Self. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Self, a son, Anthony "Tony" Self (Felicia) of Winfield, Daughters, Karen Caudle (Ivan) of Brilliant, and Ann King (Rex) of Haleyville, grandchildren, Matthew and Jonathan Caudle, Kyle Self (Carrie), and Joseph Self, and Joshua and Lindsay King, 6 great grandchildren, brothers, Billy Self (Helen) and Jackie Self (Vonnie), and one sister, Virginia Mullenix. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Bethel Cemetery, Rev. Steve Tidwell and Rev. Charlie Rawls officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
