Mrs. Mildred Faye VickeryMrs. Mildred Faye Vickery, age 81 of Winfield, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011, at DCH medical center in Fayette. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clyde and Martha Casey Holliman, and her husband Leonard H. Vickery. Mrs. Vickery is survived by her daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Ward (Dewey), sons, James Vickery (Pat), and Harold Vickery (Fronda), all of Winfield, grandchildren, Chris Ward, Alicia Ward, Eric Vickery, Adrian Pope, Jessica Lothrop, Stephanie Vickery, and Shannon Vickery, 5 great grandchildren, and a sister, Hazel Smith. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2011, from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow inthe Winfield City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield directing.

Mrs. Annie Mae JonesMrs. Annie Mae Jones, age 94 of Guin, passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 2, 2011, in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility in Guin. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church near Pea Ridge for many years. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Plumer C. Jones, a son, Robert Clay Jones, her parents, Virgil R. and Ola B. Tidwell, a brother, Paul Tidwell, and sisters, Rhoda Lee Boat, and Etta Self. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley (Roy) Crow of Guin, Granddaughters, Janet Crow of Guin, and Vanda (Julian) Blaxton of Haleyville, grandsons, Bentley (Angie) Crow of Guin, Bob (Nelda) Jones of Winfield, and Doug Jones of Haleyville, sisters, Imogene Dodds of Booneville, MS and Vina Estes of Seminole, OK, numerous great, and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in Center Cemetery. Rev. Widdy Atkins and Rev. Bobby Duncan will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon service time on Thursday at the funeral home. 

Mr. Hershel Ray MinorMr. Hershel Ray Minor, age 91, of Alabaster fomerly on Winfield, passed away on Monday, Oct 31, 2011, in the Chandler Health and Rehabilitation center in Alabaster. Mr. Minor was former Pastor at the Concorde Pentacostal Church in Winfield, and retired with Fruit of the Loom and the Winfield Cotton Mill Company. He was preceded in death by 2 wives, Mrs. Ozell Minor, and Mrs. Alene Anderson Minor, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include 2 daughters, Bonnie (Charles) Satterwhite, and Jean (Randy) Harwell, a son, Ronald R.(Gwen) Minor, grandchildren, Aaron Harwell, Paige Shelnutt, and Rhonda Davis, great grandchildren, Dakota, Tanner, and Olivia Harwell, Lexie and Lacy Shelnutt, Evan, Gideon, and Lincoln Davis. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West ALabama Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mrs. Willie Lee Marshall HollisMrs. Willie Lee Marshall Hollis, age 101, of Twin, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Hollis was born September 25, 1910, daughter of Will and Smithie Dykes Marshall. Mrs. Hollis Lived in the Winfield area her entire life, and was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Hollis, brothers, Glen, JoeMac, Paul, James "Buster" and Johnny Marshall, and a sister Esta Ulmer. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Dale (Jean) Hollis, a daughter, Smithie Jane (James Thomas) Weeks, grandchildren, Wade (Lisa) Weeks, Lance (Amy) Weeks, Beckie (Bruce) Sims, and Angel Wilkerson, great grandchildren, Caleb and Elliot Weeks, Zachery and Katie Wilkerson, sisters, Mattie Lou Coker, and Betty Moore, and brothers, Tommy and Terry Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win. Bro. Paul Gray and Dr. Charles Ballew will officiate. The visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. service time on Sunday at the funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Zion Missionary Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Hollis.
