Mr. William Andrew Langley, age 79 of Guin in the New Hope Community, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at his residence.  Mr. Langley fell in love with coon hunting and plott hounds when his father gave him his first dog at the age of 8 years old.  After the untimely passing of his father, Andrew worked in the coal mines by day, and, to help raise money for his family, hunted at night for coon pelts.  Mr. Langley was a coal miner and a strip pit operator for many years until his failing health, he served for 6 years and 4 months in the Army National Guard as a E-6 Staff Sargent.  Andrew was a member of the NPHA (National Plott Hound Association) for 55years and was awarded The Life Long Achievement award for his achievements with the plott hound breed.    He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Betty Hollis Langley, brother, Horace Langley and an infant sister. Mr. Langley is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audie Vee Langley, his son, George W. Langley and daughter, Ginger (Phillip) Barnett, grandchildren, Jennifer Shaw, Drew Hunsinger, Levi (Whitney) Hunsinger, Ashley (Jared) Symonds and Amber (Ryan) Spann, 6 great grandchildren, brothers, Joe Maurice Langley, Charles D. Langley and James A. Langley, sisters, Vera L. (Bill) Merritt, Tracy Cook, Judy L. Hubbert and Linda L. Trull, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the New Hope Cemetery.  The visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Wednesday.  Bro. Randy Alan Sandlin, 61, of formerly of Winfield, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 in Limestone County.   Randy was a 1975 graduate of Winfield City High School and served in the United States Air Force.  Mr. Sandlin is preceded in death by his father, Mr. James Randolph Sandlin and a son, Sean Alan Sandlin.    He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Clytie Mae Youngblood Sandlin of Winfield, sons, Eric Sandlin of Olive Branch, MS and Adam Sandlin of Winfield and a sister, Nita Gwen (Jimmy Wayne) Starns of Winfield.  Funeral service will be Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel.   Visitation will be Friday, November 24, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home.  Bobby Barnes, Jr. will officiate.

Mr. Tommy Gene Corkren, age 62, of Brilliant passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his residence.  Tommy Gene is a 1973 graduate of Brilliant High School.  He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Harold Gene and Mary Uwanna Burleson Corkren, a wife, Lisa Gilliam Corkren and brother, Danny Michael Corkren.   Tommy Gene is survived by his wife, Debra Corkren of Brilliant, children, Miranda Rae Corkren of Brilliant, Dusty (Mandy) Snipes of Moody, Angela Kendrick of Brilliant, Dale (Dana) Bell of Brilliant and Misty Gilliam (Shane) Hughes of Winfield.  5 grandchildren, Monica Kendrick, Christian Snipes, Skylon Snipes, Jack Bell, Karter Bell, sisters, Judy (Danny) Burnett of Winfield and Sofina (David) Crosby of Sulligent, and brother, Terry Wayne Corkren of Brilliant.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens.  Jerry Self and Greg Webb will be officiating ministers.  Visitation will be Friday, November 25, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mable Ellen Weeks, age 82, of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her residence.  Mrs. Weeks was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church for many years.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Mr. James R. Weeks, her parents Guy & Ruby Barnes, brothers, Leon “Jr.” and Charles Barns, sisters, Shirley Markham and Judy Marcum.  She is survived by her children, Steve (Janet) Weeks, Diane (Wayne) Prescott, Donna Martin, Sandy (Max) Ary, Kathy (Benny) Garrison and Tim (Tina) Weeks, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, brother, Jimmy (Nancy) Barnes and sisters, Pat (Dale) Ridgeway, Wanda(David) Loveless, Debbie (Jody) Dodd, Shelia Files, Susan (Larry) Harkness and Elizabeth (Larry) Rogers.   Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Eastside Baptist Church.  Visitation will be Thursday, November 23, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bowen Funeral Home.    Bro.
