Gaston “Benny” Davis, age 66, of Winfield, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Benny was born on September 5, 1958 to Tommie Lou Berryhill Davis and Gaston Davis. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Earnest and Lourene Berryhill and Dave and Savannah Davis. Benny was a 1976 graduate of Winfield City High School and a 1978 graduate of Northwest Alabama State Technical College earning a degree in Automotive Technology. Benny worked in multiple Napa Auto Parts stores throughout the area and ended his career as owner and operator of Napa Auto Parts in Fayette, Alabama. He was a long-time member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Benny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Belinda Ballard Davis, his mother, Tommie Lou Berryhill Davis, two daughters Brittney Davis Evans (Michael) and Brooke Davis Poole (Justin), grandchildren Addy and Ames Poole, and his sister Deborah Davis Weeks (Ronny). A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 3:00 pm from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm (service time), at the funeral home. Ashlyn Jade Parr Johnson, lovingly known as AJ, age 24 of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She was born on April 10, 2001 in Winfield, Alabama to Ryan Parr and Pamela Miller Hulsey. AJ was a 2019 graduate of Winfield City High School and was currently attending Bevill State Community College, pursuing a degree in computer science. She worked as a server at Another Broken Egg in Guntersville while continuing her studies. AJ was full of life, she was an avid gamer and enjoyed drawing, riding horses, and hiking. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, Obi, Marvel, and Ahsoka.
Ashlyn is survived by her husband, Jace Johnson, her mother, Pamela Miller Hulsey (Daniel Mobley), her father, Ryan Parr (Ketty), her sisters, Blaklyn Hulsey, Isabella Parr, and Ivanna Parr, her brother, Jordan Parr, her grandparents, Jimmy and Linda Parr, her mother-in-law, Heather Swedenburg (Brian), aunt, Tosha Miller Breski, uncles, Lee Parr (Elizabeth) and Michael Parr (Rebekah), her closest friends, Karrli Martin (Zach) and Rebecca Marquiss, and a host of extended family members and other friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Bernice Miller.
Funeral services for Ashlyn will be held on Monday evening, August 11, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial service will take place in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Danny Lou Spann, 93, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 in Fayette, Alabama. Danny Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle Belle Spann and William Roston Spann; sisters Polly Smith, Sarah Bull, Alice Robertson, and Reba Wheeler; and brother Glen Spann. She is survived by her three daughters, Vickie Cunningham of Kalispell, Montana, Brenda (Michael) Fernety of Salem, Oregon, and Pamela (Keith) Foster of Paris, Kentucky; brothers, Ben Spann and Bill Spann; sisters Bonnie (Dan) Campbell, and Judy (Don) May; brothers-in-law, Jim Smith, Bob Wheeler, and Charles Robertson; two beloved grandchildren, Wesley (Cary) Hazel of Huntington Beach, California, and Krista (Tony) Robatzek of West Glacier, Montana; two great-grandchildren, Kyla Hazel and Jasper Robatzek; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Danny Lou was born in the family home outside of Winfield, on August 11, 1931. She graduated from Winfield High School, and later from nursing school in San Angelo, Texas. After working for many years as a nurse, she retired and moved back home to Winfield, where she enjoyed living in her “cabin,” working in her yard, quilting, and cooking. She enjoyed making gift packages of cookies and breads at Christmastime and delivering them to friends. Danny Lou knitted caps for cancer patients, mailing some off to hospitals and non-profit organizations on a regular basis and delivering others locally. She also enjoyed her family coming to visit, shopping, and eating lunch at Aroma’s.
After suffering a stroke in 2019, she resided at Morningview Estates Assisted Living in Fayette, Alabama. She recently moved to Fayette Long Term Care. Her family would like to thank the staff, volunteers, and Hospice at both facilities.
At her request, there will be no memorial service. She will be laid to rest in the Goodwater Cemetery.

Mr. Jeffrey Jerome Williams, age 62, of Winfield, Alabama, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Diversicare Nursing Facility in Winfield. Jeffrey was born November 15, 1962 in Melrose Park, Illinois to Erskine and Faith Williams.
Jeffrey is survived by his children, Morgan Hall (James) of Maryland and Amanda Harper (Dakota) of Texas, his grandchildren, Ivan Hall of Maryland, Jacob Harper of Texas, Login and Abigail Lucas of Maryland, and Jay Sullivan of Pennsylvania, his longtime companion, Deborah Cummings of Winfield, his mother, Faith Williams of Brilliant, his sister, Brenda Hahn (Jeff) of Brilliant and a host of other extended family members.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Erskine Williams.
Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon service time at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Maddox will serve as officiating minister.
