Mrs. Brenda Faye Vickery Mahoney, age 68, of Winfield passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at her residence. Mrs. Mahoney was born in Statesboro, Georgia on September 25, 1956 to Benjamin and Maybelline Vickery. She was a member of Winfield Freewill Baptist Church and a 1975 graduate of Winfield City High School. Brenda enjoyed spending her time at home with her husband, being with her children and grandchildren, going to church and studying her Bible, and watching Alabama Football.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Kenneth Mahoney, daughters, Wendy Bishop Head (David), Cindy Bishop Gilbert (Allen), and Melissa Bishop, step daughters, Amanda Miller (Daniel), and Tonya Nichols (Chad), grandchildren, Katie Robison (Dalton), Tom Nix (Alaina), Katlynn Stevens (Trey), Levi Gilbert, Adrianna Burleson (Matthew Conway), Brooklyn Parks, BreAnna Parks, Kaison Bishop (Kyla), Isaiah Wallace, Samantha Wallace, Chase Nichols, Zoey Nichols, Christian Miller, and Payton Miller, great grandchildren, Addie Robison, Everleigh Robison, Jordyn Nix, Allen Nix, Thomas Robison, London Conway, and Saint J’ream Bishop, brothers, Junior Vickery, and Gerald Vickery, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Bishop, sister, Wanda Vickery, and her half-brother, Willie Gay.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mahoney will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Old Union Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Fred Daniel Harkness, better known as Daniel, age 87 of Winfield, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025 at the Sunset Manor Nursing facility in Guin. Daniel was born in Fayette County, Alabama on June 2, 1937 to Fred Matthew and Sue Dell Harkness. He was a long-time member of the Winfield First Baptist Church and was a 1955 graduate of Winfield High School. Daniel was very talented with his large hands. He was a machinist by trade, and he loved to have a large garden. His last work experience was at the University of Alabama in the Engineering Department.

Mr. Harkness was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers and his sister Johnnie Sue Beasley.

He is survived by his children, Rhonda Robertson, Risa H. Grimsley (Alva), Fred Daniel “Butch” Harkness, Jr. (Susan) and Jenny Harkness Allen and a brother, Jimmy Don Harkness, grandchildren, Chase Robertson (Gena), Reid Robertson (Priscilla), Jessica R. McCray (Freddie), Peyton R. Roulaine (Jim), Will Grimsley, Molly G. Beaugh (Adam), Mary Elizabeth H. Peters (Kevin) and Elizabeth Allen and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Harkness will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Camp Comfort Community Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time. Brother Tim Coleman of the First Baptist Church of Winfield will service as the officiating minister. Active pallbearers are Donny Robertson, Justin Beasley, Greg Beasley, Eddie Carter, Greg Youngblood, Tony Butler and his grandsons, honorary pallbearers will be Daniel’s Men’s Sunday School Class and Gary Barker.

Donald Aaron Halford, better known as Donnie, age 22 of Hubbertville passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his residence. Donnie was born in St. Louis, MO on October 2, 2002. He was a 2021 graduate of Hubbertville High School where he loved cheering on the Hubbertville Lions and playing cymbals in the Lion Pride Marching Band. Donnie was a sweet soul with a heart of gold and loved others unconditionally. He was always joking and smiling and loved for everyone around him to do the same. Donnie enjoyed spending his time listening to music, dancing, and watching Alabama and NFL football.

Donnie is survived by his parents, LaShelle Halford, and Jackie Malone, aunts and uncles, Kristy and Brent May, James and Laura Malone, and Candi and Glin Reid, and a host of cousins, other family members, and friends.

Donnie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Deanna Ellis, and Jack and Vera Malone.

Mr. Ricky Joe Beasley, better known as Joe age 64, of Winfield passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his residence. Joe was born in Fayette County, Alabama on April 18, 1960 to Howard and Wynell Jones Beasley. He was a member and deacon of the Unity Baptist Church and a 1976 graduate of Hubbertville High School. Joe later attended Columbia Southern University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in health and occupational safety management. He was employed with Continental Conveyor for more than 10 years before becoming a safety manager with Airbus Helicopter. Joe also spent many years with Fayette Medical Center as a part time EMT. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Beasley is survived by his wife, Teresa Beasley, sons, Kevin Beasley (Amber) of Hubbertville, Keith Beasley of Hubbertville, and Chris Beasley of Niceville, FL., 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters, Ann White and Brenda Bly (Randy), brothers, Bob Beasley (Rebecca), and John Beasley (Ashley), and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley is preceded in death by a nephew, Tyler Beasley.

Funeral services for Mr. Beasley will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Unity Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.
