Mrs. Bonnie Graves Williams, age 88 of Winfield, AL passed from this life on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at a son’s home in Winfield, AL with family around her. Mrs. Williams was born on August 5, 1937, in Nashville, TN, the daughter of Luther W. Graves and Frances Clinard Graves. She married Jerry W. Williams, her husband of almost 68 years, on December 20, 1957. Together they raised a family and served the Lord in ministry in 7 churches in 4 states for over 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Lewis Williams, her husband, Jerry W. Williams, and two brothers, Warren and Horace Graves.
After graduating from East High School in Nashville, TN, she was employed by an insurance firm in Nashville. This was the beginning of several clerical jobs at which she would excel. These included Genesco (Nashville, TN), Johnston Elementary School (Asheville, NC), Middle Georgia College (Cochran, GA), Bainbridge State College (Bainbridge. GA), Trinity Youth Camp (Guin, AL), and Alabama Free Will Baptist Executive Office (Eldridge, AL).
Survivors include her two sons, Danny (Karen) Williams of Winfield, AL, and Thomas (Corinna) Williams of Valparaiso, FL, granddaughters: Bethany Campbell (Cullman, AL), Heather Marck (Madison, AL), Audrey Tooley (Rushville, IN), Hollis Williams (Valparaiso, FL), Jessica Gonce (Church Hill, TN) and Jamie Mabe (Surprise, AZ), great grandchildren: Levi, Adeline, Forrest, Jacson, Alder, Madalynn, and Kai.
In addition to her clerical employment, Mrs. Williams embraced her roles as wife, mother, grandmother. She was a blessing to her family. She was an excellent cook and housekeeper. She made holidays special with decorations, meals, and desserts. She enjoyed traveling, reading, watching sports and working in the yard. Flowers were a real joy to her whether she was planting them or just admiring them.
Although raised in the First Nazarene Church in Nashville, Mrs. Williams partnered with her husband as he ministered in the Free Will Baptist denomination. She grew to love FWB and became very knowledgeable and involved in it. She loved attending church, singing in the choir, supporting missions, and fellowshipping with her friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Old Union Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.

Mr. David Byrum Shaw, age 71, of Brilliant passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Shaw was born on January 15, 1954 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Thomas E. and Betty Abbott Shaw. He worked for General Motors Company for many years until his retirement.

Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife, Connie Dominguez Shaw, his children, Rudy Lopez, Anna Schilling, Joann Lopez, Juliet White, and Joe Lopez, his grandchildren, Alexander White, Kaiden White, and Kevin Schilling, brothers, Tim Shaw, Tommy Shaw, and Michael Laughlin, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Betty Shaw.

A memorial service for Mr. Shaw will be held at a later date.

Mr. Walter “Elzo” Whitehead, age 83, of Glen Allen, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at his residence. He was born on May 19,1942, in Winfield, Alabama to Sanford and Willie Harbin Whitehead. Elzo was a devoted member of Berea Church of Christ and was well known throughout Winfield, Fayette, and surrounding areas for his many years of skilled carpentry work. Elzo was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved sharing his knowledge and talents. Whether teaching his family the tricks of the trade in carpentry, showing them how to plant a garden, or spending a day fishing, he always led by example.

Mr. Whitehead is survived by his sons, Gary Whitehead (Vickie) and Tim Whitehead (Paige), grandchildren, Chad Whitehead (Jessie), Brad Whitehead (Chesley), and Kayla Smith (Sammy), great grandchildren, Connor, Peyton, Chloe, Caylee, Aubree, Brooke, Luke, and Kyson, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Whitehead, grandson, Justin Whitehead, and his brothers, Roland, Arlon, and James Ralph Whitehead.

Funeral services for Elzo will be held on Friday, October 24th at 2:00 p.m. from the Berea Church of Christ with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.

Susan Rene Studdard, age 62 of Fayette passed away on Maonday, October 20, 2025 in the DCH Region Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Susan was born in Winfield, AL on October 25, 1962 to Donald T. Studdard and Faye Ivey Studdard. She was a member of Zion Missionary Church of Winfield and a 1981 graduate of Winfield City High School. Susan enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, working in her flowers and gardening, decorating for the holidays, spending time with her “Gal Pals” from Winfield and Fayette, and being with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Katy Dunaway, grandchildren, Alidia Splain and her husband Jordan, Gracie Dunaway and Alex Jones, great grandson, Carter Splain, brother, Mark Studdard and his wife Janet, brother-in-law, Stewart White, fiancé, Danny Jones, her fur baby, Zoie and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and close friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her son, Adam Peiffer, father, Don Studdard, mother, Norma Studdard, stepmother, Diane Studdard, and her sister, Yodonna White.

A memorial service for Susan will be held at a later time.
