Mr. Timothy Lowell Franks, better known as Tim, age 65, of Winfield passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at his residence. Tim was born in Guin, Alabama on May 21, 1958 to Lowell and Faye Atkinson Franks. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church and attended Winfield Church of Christ for many years. Tim was a 1976 graduate of Marion County High School and a member of the 1973 State Champion football team. He later attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he earned a B.S degree in finance. He spent much of his life as an entrepreneur in various businesses before his retirement into farming. Tim was involved in many organizations and civic activities; the Alabama Cattleman’s Association, the Winfield Touchdown Club, Tip Off Club and Homerun Club, all of which he served as president. In his spare time Tim enjoyed farming, supporting WCHS Athletics and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Franks is survived by his wife, Marcia McGuire Franks, children, Blake Franks (Payten) and Lisa Ann Mullins (Drew), grandchildren, Ja’borri McGhee, Dani Kate Franks, Eliza Jane Lovett, Charlotte Ray Mullins, and Lydia Scott Franks, and a host of other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents Mr. Franks was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Robert and Mildred McGuire and a sister-in-law, Nancy McGuire.

Funeral services for Mr. Franks will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Alabama at P.O. Box 1216 Winfield, Alabama 35594.

Mrs. Geneva Gloria Gean Kimbrell, age 80, of Brilliant passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 in the Northwest Medical Center. Mrs. Kimbrell was born on April 14, 1943 to Norman and Clara Mae Fowler Willcutt. She was born and raised in Rock City, Alabama where she also attended Liberty School. Gloria Gean was a long-time member of the Brilliant Church of God. She spent much of her life employed as the custodian for State Bank &Trust where she later retired. In her spare time Gloria Gean enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, sewing, working in her flower beds and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very giving person, always caring for others.

Mrs. Kimbrell is survived by her husband, Thomas Wayne Kimbrell, children, Pam Davis (Danny) and Bobby Kimbrell (Sonya), grandchildren, Tina Poston (Robert), Jeramy Davis (Ashley), Bo Kimbrell, and Jon Michael Kimbrell, great-grandchildren, Sarah Poston, Joseph Poston, and Emberly Davis, Godchild, Ginger Jordan, sister, Martha Rich, and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.

Mrs. Kimbrell was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Betty Willcutt, Faye “Cootie” Nehuesil, Elouise Blake, Patsy Wheatley, and Mary Jordan, and brothers, Travis, Thomas, Jimmy, David Carol “Whitey” and Michael Willcutt.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kimbrell will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Robert Timothy Tidwell better known as Tim, age 58 of the Hubbertville community passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 in the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Tim was born in Winfield, AL on April 11, 1965 to Robert “Bud” Tidwell and Sarah “Jody” Plunkett. Tim was raised by his stepmother Patty Tidwell, and he attended Hubbertville High School. He enjoyed drawing, collecting hot wheels, putting together model cars, being with his family, cooking out with his brothers, and anything outdoors.

He is survived by his stepmother, Patty Tidwell, sisters, Tracie Long and her husband Jeff, Stacy Jackson and her husband Michael, brothers, Chris Tidwell, Nick Tidwell and his wife Lindsey, Kelvin Plunkett and his wife Kimberly, sister-in-law Tina Tidwell Spiller and her husband Ricky and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Bud" Tidwell and Jody Plunkett, and a brother, Paul Tidwell.

Funeral services for Tim will be held on Monday, July 24th at 5:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Sand Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tommie Jo Box Moore, age 73, of Birmingham, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in the Aspire Physical Recovery Facility. Mrs. Moore was born on May 13, 1950 in Winfield, AL to Virgil and Vera Hawkins Box. Tommie was a member of the Forestdale Free Will Baptist Church. She was a 1968 graduate of Winfield City High School and later attended Brewer State Community College. Tommie spent much of her life as a homemaker caring for her husband and sons, often volunteering with their school programs. In her spare time, she enjoyed a good milkshake, working with flowers, and watching Alabama football. Tommie loved spending time with her grandson and taking trips with her family often to the beach or mountains.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband of 52 years, James “Mike” Moore, son, Lance Moore and his wife Katie of Hoover, and grandson, Clark Moore.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by sons, Jason Moore and Johnathan Moore, and her parents.

Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Griggs Place Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at the funeral home.
