Mrs. Nelda Linley SimsMrs. Nelda Linley Sims, age 69 of Brilliant, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae Flippo Linley, and her husband, Donald "Peanut" Sims. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Szuch (Buckshot) of Oregon, Ohio, her father, Clyde Linley of Brilliant, granddaughter, Ashley Hirzel (Daniel) of Oregon, Ohio, great grandchildren, Hartley and Freya Jewel Hirzel, sisters, Gail Rickels (Mike) of Kimberly, and Sheila Barnard (Ray) of Castalia, Ohio, a brother, Hilton (Cindy) Linley of Brilliant, and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30th at Center United Methodist Church. Bryan Spiller will officiate. 

The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (service time) on Saturday at the Church.

Mrs. Kathryn Weeks Forsythe of Trussville, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Grandview Hospital in Birmingham. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Fannie Vickery Weeks, a sister, Olene Harris, and four brothers, James, Benny, Joe and Harry Weeks. She is survived by a son, Glenn Forsythe of Trussville, sisters, Alma Cantrell of Mobile, Martha Legg of Athens, and Nell Mayfield of Winfield, and two sisters in law, Jelois weeks and Mable Weeks. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29th from the White Springs Methodist Cemetery. C.W. Box will officiate.

Linda G. WhiteheadMrs. Linda G. Whitehead, age 68 of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at her residence. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dowell Wesley Webb and Earline Nix Webb, and her husband, William Ray Whitehead. 

Mrs. Whitehead was a Certified Nursing Assistant and served many years in Winfield and Guin; she enjoyed crocheting and fishing with her husband. 

She is survived by her daughters, Melody Tucker (Robbie) Robertson of Arley, and Kathy Kilpatrick Davis (Michael) of Winfield, a brother Terry Webb (Clara) of Haleyville, a sister, Gylisha Webb of Winfield, brothers, Wesley (Kathy) Webb of Winfield and Brian (Sheila) Webb of Guin, grandchildren, Caleb Tucker (April Mathews) of Cullman and Tiffany Tucker (Jared Frost) of Townley, and Johnathan and Hunter J. Steele, special friends, Mary Stough Moore, Carmella Chestnut, Dot Whitehead, Shirley Rigsby, and Caryl Beard, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the New River Church of Christ Cemetery. Robbie Robertson will be the officiating minister.

The visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Wednesday at the funeral home. Justin Davis, Tarrant Williams, Charles Sykes, Troy Sykes, Allen Webster, Caleb Tucker, and James Allen Webb will serving as pallbearers, Blake Webb and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association serving as honanrary pallbearers.

Doris Faye MilesMrs. Doris Faye Miles, age 78 of Winfield, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Sunset Manor Nursing Healthcare Facility in Guin.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Miles, parents J.D. Hayes and Ella Faye Hayes York, and a sister Nell Hayes. She is survived by her children, Tim (Sonya) Miles, Regina Miles, and Marty (Tracy) Miles, grandchildren, Zane (Danielle) Miles, Dakary (Leslie) Miles, Braden (Brandi) Miles, Derrick (Jordan), Tyler Thomas, and Hagen Miles, great grandchildren, Milleigh, Hutch, Kase, Hank, Hoyt, Brileigh, and Aven Miles, brothers, Jimmy Hayes and Jerry Hayes, half-sister, Cynthia Green, step-mother, Hazel Bryant, and step-sisters, Karen Manasco and Sandra Randolph. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 24th at Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. The visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Sunday at the chapel.
