Mr. Danny Keith Loftis, age 62, of Winfield, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his residence. Danny was born April 23, 1956 in Foley, Alabama to Dan Loftis and Wanda Faye Mills Loftis. He was a 1974 graduate of Winfield City High School, a United States Navy Veteran and an active member of the Winfield American Legion Post 100. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father in law, James Norris. Mr. Loftis is survived by his wife, Debby Norris Loftis, his sons, Derreck Loftis of Jacksonville, FL, and Justin Parr of Winfield, sister, Tina Smith (Neil) of Macon, MS, mother in law, Martha Norris of Winfield, a nephew, Tyler Lawrence of Winfield, and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Danny will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win with Military Honors presented at the graveside. The visitation will be on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Bro. Ronnie Elmore and Bro. Gary Markham will be the officiating ministers.  Members of the Winfield American Legion Post 100 will serve as Honorary pallbearers. Tim Mansfield, Tommy Austin, Rob Bolton, Mark McDonald, Jimmy Smothers and Shane Hughes will serve as active pallbearers. Mrs. Melissa Jo Baker Lucas, age 46 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Jo Ann Vickery Baker, grandparents, Lucille and Lander Vickery and Audie Baker, uncles, Alon Vickery and Joe Wilkerson, aunt, Katie Wilkerson, cousins, Justin Vickery and Katrina Crumpton.  She is survived by her husband, Junior "Jr" Lucas, sons, Josh (Heather) Lucas, Austin (Natalie) Lucas, her father, Lecil Baker, a sister, Sheila (Stevie) Gann, grandchildren, Bowdee Scott, Baylee Pennington, Adrian Lewis, and one due in July, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery near Rock City.  The visitation will be on Thursday from 12 noon until service time at 2:00 pm.  Bowen Funeral Home Serving the Lucas family.  

Mrs. Colene Burleson Farris, age 84, of Brilliant, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Mrs. Farris was born on December 23, 1933 in the Sunny Home community to Woodrow Ralph Burleson and Jessie Barton Burleson. She was a member of the White House Church of Christ. Mrs. Farris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and a caregiver. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jimmy Farris, a sister, Jackie Burleson, brothers, Benny Rex and J. C. Burleson. She is survived by her son, Terry Farris (Cheryl), granddaughters, Paige Farris and Tiffany Farris, a great granddaughter, Lena Busby, sister, Sue Burleson and her brother, Woodrow “Junior” Burleson (Annelle). Funeral services for Mrs. Farris will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the White House Church of Christ cemetery. Byron Longcrier will be the officiating minister. Mrs. Cheryl Sargent Price, age 63, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, John Price, daughter, Stacey Ritchie of Winfield, son, Dylan Price of Winfield, grandchildren, Gracie, Abbie, Taylor, and Addison, and a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. W. Cashman and Flora G. Hanks Sargent, step father, Ed Sargent and brother William Sargent.
