Mr. John David McDonough, better known as Dave, age 82 of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Dave was born in Peoria, IL on October 21, 1937 to Donald and Doris M. McDonough. He was a 1955 graduate of Peoria High School and a graduate of Berean Bible College. Dave was a minister and delivered food for the McDonough Ministry and Foodbank in Newport News, VA. Mr. McDonough was a member of Faith Fellowship Church of Winfield; he taught the Men’s Bible Study class and was head greeter for the church. Dave was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran and owner/operator of his own telecommunications business. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Karen Stilley McDonough, daughters, Cindy Nolen (Michael) of Winfield, Kassandra Elbert of Newport News, VA, and Michelle M. Isaacson (Steve) of Newport News, VA, grandchildren, Melissa Gilmer (Jamie) of Sulligent, Amy Wheeler (Kevin) of Sulligent, Katelyn Coleman (David) of Birmingham,Alyssa Faison (Brandon) of Newport News, VA,  Samantha Crombine of Newport News, VA and Megan Jackson (Tye Houston) of Newport News, VA, eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and his church family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald D. McDonough, Sr and Doris M. Barclay McDonough, his stepmother, Edna McDonough, and a brother, Donald D. McDonough, Jr.

Mr. Charles D. Langley, age 87 of Guin passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. Charles was born on July 26, 1933 to Franklin and Bettie Langley in Marion Co., he was a United States Army Veteran, business man, truck driver, welder, sawmill owner/operator and owner of Langley Log Home in Guin.

Mr. Langley was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Jefferson Langley and Bettie Hollis Langley, brothers, Joe Morris, Andrew and Horace Langley and an infant sister, he is survived by his daughter, Betty Ballard of Winfield, grandchildren, Chastidy Bode (Louie) of Birmingham, Ashley Stephens (Jeff) of Birmingham and Brennan Ballard of Winfield, great grandchildren, Everly and Grayson Stephens and Noah Bode, a brother, Arnold Langley of Yampertown, sisters, Vera Merritt of Winfield, Tracie Cook of Huntsville, Judy Hubbert of Winfield and Linda Trull of Winfield a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Langley will be held at a later date and will be announced by Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield. Mr. Jerry Harlond Norris, age 74 of Guin passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 in the Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville. Mr. Norris was born in Fayette County Alabama on March 16, 1946 to Flave and Mamie Lou Norris. He was a member of the Union Chapel Baptist Church of Beaverton, a 1964 graduate of Hubbertville High School and a United States Army Veteran.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Spann Norris, children, Vickie Gunter (Brent), Kim McDaniel (Kevin) and Dewayne Norris (Stacy), grandchildren, Tyler Gunter (Tiffany), Jake Gunter (Savannah), Kaitlyn Atkins (Dillion), Kenzie Nolen (Hayden), Peyton, Luke and Levi Norris, great grandchildren, Bryer Atkins, Heath Gunter and a sister, Joy Patterson (Kendal) and a host of nieces, nephews and other church family, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Flave Norris and Mamie Lou Mitchell Norris, a sister, Sue Johnson and his brother, James Norris.

Funeral service for Mr. Norris will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Union Chapel Baptist Church in Beaverton with burial to follow in the Harmony Grove cemetery in Winfield. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the church.

Mr. Jerry Morris Burgess, age 79 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 in the Fayette County Medical Center. Jerry was born on June 8, 1941 to Arthur A. and Mary Nan Tune Burgess in Winfield, AL. He was a 1959 graduate of Winfield City High School, owner / operator of Burgess Transmission and I-22 Motorsports Park.

Mr. Burgess is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Hayes Burgess, sons, Gregg Burgess (Chris) of Winfield and Wade Burgess (Lisa) of Tuscaloosa, grandchildren, Kyle Burgess of Jasper, Erica Michel (Anthony) of Vestavia Hills, Hunter Burgess (Kayla) of Bankston, Courtney Jones (Bradley) of Winston-Selma, NC, Mary Beth Melton (Hunter) of Vestavia Hills, great grandchildren, Rivers Burgess, Waylon Burgess, David, Kate and Langston Michel, Alli and Corbin Burgess and Kennedy Jones, sisters, Carol Reed of Tuscaloosa, Marcy Norris (Aubrey) of Northport and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur A. Burgess and Mary Nan Tune Burgess, and three brothers, Jimmy, Joe and Ronnie Burgess.

The funeral service for Jerry will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Union Chapel Cemetery near Winfield. Brother Tim Meherg will be the officiating minister.
