Mary Ann McGowan Hendrickson, age 69 of Winfield, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at her residence. Visitation for Mrs. Hendrickson will be held on Friday February 1, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel. Mr. Christian Bloch better known as Chris, age 54, of Winfield formerly of Waycross, GA, passed away Sunday January 27, 2019 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Mr. Bloch was materials manager for Clayton Homes for over 18 years. He served in the United States Army from 1986 to 1991. Between 1990 and 1991 he served in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Chris loved to play golf, the Tennessee Volunteers and the Denver Broncos. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gwendolyn Bloch of Winfield, 3 daughters, Katelyn Bloch and Fiancé Jacob Gibson of Waycross, Georgia, Makenzie Bloch of Waycross, Georgia, and Emma Bloch of Winfield, an uncle, Soren Bloch of Saint Helena, CA, his mother and father in law, Phillis and Ray Carney of Clarksville, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ole and Anneliese Mueller Bloch. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, January 30, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bowen Funeral Home in Winfield, with further arrangements made later in Waycross, Georgia. Mr. Howard Dickinson, Jr. better known as Junior, age 78, of Winfield passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at his residence. Junior was employed by Continental Conveyor Company in Winfield for 45 years.
Junior loved his wife and cared for her over the years and loved everyone, he was always willing to do anything to help anybody he could, but he especially loved his children, grandchildren, and his “fur babies”.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Mildred Dickinson, daughter, Deborah Oelberg, son, Howard “Roy” Leroy Dickinson, III, grandchildren, Summer Noelle Dickinson Tucker (Jeffery Reed), Cody Charles Oelberg (Kayme), Elizabeth Brooke Edgil, Katie Corella Cook, great grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, Ashlyn, Addison, Dalton, Belle, Bailey, McKenzie and Drew, daughter in law, Libby Edgil, and his beloved pets, Christmas, Demi and Anna.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Dickinson, Sr. and Geneva R. Snipes Dickinson, a grandson, Billy Dickinson, brother, Louis Dickinson, and two sisters, Eunice Dickinson Webster and Daisy Marie Dickinson Prescott.
Funeral services for Mr. Dickinson will be Thursday January 31, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (service time) on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Liberty Cemetery near Fowlers Crossroads. Mr. Robert Benjamin Miles, Sr. age 93, of Winfield passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 in the Diversicare Health Care Center in Winfield. Robert was born to John Frank Miles and Lillie Harbin Miles on June 16, 1925. Robert grew up in the Rock City community, went thru the 6th grade at Bobo elementary school, and later earned his GED through the GI Bill while serving in the U.S. Navy. Robert married his sweetheart, Lucille Black from Fayette and raised three children, Bobby, Helen, and Lillie. Robert worked several jobs, sometimes simultaneously, in order to provide for his family. He was employed at the Joslyn Steel Mill in Ft. Wayne, IN, five days a week and at a local service station on the weekends. Upon returning to Alabama, he worked for the Winfield Pepsi Company and Glen Allen Coal. Robert enjoyed playing music and working at his sawmill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Jenny Bell, Margaret, and Murral, four brothers, Jim, Donald, Junior and Arnold. He is survived by his children, Robert Miles, Jr. “Bobby” (Chesteen) of Winfield, Helen Henderson (Sam) of Fayette, and Lillie Everette (Benny) of Fayette, grandchildren, Sharon Dickinson (Steve), Kristy Corley (John), Michele Stanford (Craig), Ross Henderson (Revelle), Miles Henderson, Bryan Everette (Shari), Angela Cribb (Scott), great grandchildren, Kyle Rainey (Tasha), Kevin Rainey, Ryan Stanford, Kelsi Stanford, Allyson Afshar (Bryan), Brooke Hynds (Caleb), Rhett Henderson, Sadie Henderson, Isabel Henderson, Everette Cribb, Morgan Cribb, Aaron Cribb, Madison Cribb, and Lauren Cribb, great great grandchildren, Kolt Rainey, Ben, Bryce and Barrett Afshar, Harper and Callie Hynds, and three more on the way.

Funeral services for Robert will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Griggs Place Cemetery.
