Ms. Sarina Lynn Benton Cantrell, age 56 of Winfield passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023 in the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Sarina was born in Winfield, Alabama on February 3, 1967 to J. L. “Fuzz” and Mary Lee “Mack” Box Benton. She attended Rock City Church of God and was a 1985 graduate of Winfield City High School. Sarina enjoyed spending time with her cousins shopping and going out to eat.

She is survived by her brother, Thymon Neal Benton and a host of other relatives and close friends. Sarina was preceded in death by her husband, Eddy Hobson Cantrell and her parents.

Funeral services for Sarina will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Guin City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lorraine Alice Stai Smith, age 89 of Brilliant, formerly of Moline, IL went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 28, 2023. Mrs. Smith was born in EauClaire, WI on February 3, 1934 in East Moline, IL to Francis Clayton and Anna Marie Fedie Stai. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Moline, Illinois and a graduate of Rock Island High School in Rock Island, IL. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with her world revolving around her family and extended family. Mrs. Smith hosted many family events and holiday get-togethers. She always had a home full of loved ones and laughter. Lorraine was employed with Epic Food Services at the John Deere Administration Building as supervisor overseeing the dining room, cafeteria, and special events. She enjoyed traveling and being with her husband and family.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Donna Lyons of Rock Island, IL, Ann Allen of San Bernardino, CA, Lorraine “June” Cagle of Brilliant, AL, Melvin Smith, Jr of Moline, IL, Frances “Marty” Smith of Moline, IL, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Smith, Sr., a daughter, Theresa Bodiford, grandchildren, Gabriel Haney and Melanie Bodiford, her parents, two sisters and a brother.

Memorial services for Mrs. Smith will be announced later.

Mr. Roger Lynn May, age 60, of Winfield, AL passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 in the Walker Baptist Medical Center. Mr. May was born in Florence, Alabama on June 4, 1963 to Paul and Betty Poole May. Roger attended Wilson High School and was employed with Clayton Supply of Winfield for 25 years. In his spare time Roger enjoyed Alabama football, being outdoors riding ATVs, Talladega racing, Harley Davidson motorcycles, swimming, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. May is survived by his wife, Mary May, son, Timothy May, mother, Betty May, stepchildren, Eric Turbyfill (Brittany Adams) and Alyssa Fikes (Adam), step-grandchildren, Jaxon Adams, Liam Turbyfill, and Addy Fikes, brothers, Tim May (Teresa), and Charles May, fur babies, Bubba Jay and Baby Girl, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Mr. May was preceded in death by his father, Paul May, and brother, Kenneth May.

Funeral services for Mr. May will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. until 2:00p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Jesse Littleton Williamson, age 80, of Winfield passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Williamson was born in Walker County, Alabama on November 3, 1942 to John and Eva Clark Williamson. Jesse was a very hardworking man who began working at an early age farming and in chicken houses, before beginning his career in oil drilling. In his spare time Jesse enjoyed collecting baseball cards and knives, fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. He also enjoyed woodworking and building airplanes that he powered by fuel. Jesse loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Mary Helen Williamson, sons, Chistopher Williamson (Kara) and Ricky Williamson, grandchildren, Jessie Williamson (Lauren), Caleb Wilson (Taylor Brimer), Nathan Williamson, Kaden Williamson, and Wren Williamson, great grandson, Adrian Wilson, brother, Earnest Williamson (Charlotte), sister-in-law, Deborah,23 nieces, 13 nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Renee Nichols, and brothers, Edgra, Ervin, Billy, James, William, and Roger Williamson.

Funeral services for Mr. Williamson will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
