Mr. Donald Fredric Sobrak, age 83 of Winfield, formerly of Woodburn, Oregon, passed away Tuesday February 5, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Sobrak was a 1953 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Minnesota, served seven years in the United States Air Force, worked for General Metal Craft and served as Union President of the United Steele Workers in Portland, OR. He enjoyed long road trips with his family up the Oregon coast, hunting, fishing, boating. Mr. Sobrak loved playing bingo and bowling. Mr. Sobrak was a very active member and volunteer of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Winfield. Mr. Sobrak is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Judith Kirkpatrick Sobrak, his children, Thomas Sobrak, Deborah Holum (Mark), Lori Cranford (Aaron), Donna Engelman, Michael Sobrak and, Rhonda McKnight, nine grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sobrak and Clara LeJunesse, grandson, Corey Engelman, sisters, Helen Sobrak DeCoux and Marie Sobrak Trehan and a brother, Edward Sobrak. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Winfield. Father Anthony Weiss will officiate. Mr. Roger Maxwell Sandlin, age 69, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at his residence. Roger was born on July 18, 1949 in Winfield, AL to Avery and Pearlie Sandlin. Mr. Sandlin worked for many years in the coal mines and later remodeled mobile homes. He is preceded in death by his parents, Avery Sandlin and Pearlie Spiller Sandlin, six sisters, Zittie Jo Sandlin, Adelle Sandlin, Liddell Sandlin, Francis Lopez, Mary Cauwels, Christine Bryant, four brothers, James Sandlin, Steve Sandlin, Odis Sandlin and Johnny Sandlin. Roger is survived by his sons, Mike Sandlin (Teena) of Beaverton and Mark Sandlin (Lisa) of Winfield, grandchildren, Jon Sandlin (Tori), Brittney Sandlin, Tiffany Murphy (John), Dewayne Box (Brandy), Tiffany Dickinson, and Carlee Dickinson, great grandchildren, Allan Sandlin, River Sandlin, Jody Box, Henry Box, Colton Box, and Wade Dickinson, sister, Rachel Stock, and brother, Donald Sandlin (Maedean). Mr. Lewis Edwin “Ed” Trull age 84 of Winfield passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Ed was born April 17, 1934 in Fayette County to Joseph Griffin “Griff” Trull and Pearlie Hazel May Trull. He was a 1952 graduate of Winfield City High School, a Sergeant in the United States Army and member of the Army National Guard. Ed was a supervisor for many years at 3M Company in Guin, owner and operator of Trull Building Supply in Winfield, and BJ’s Trucking Company. Mr. Trull was a dedicated member and Deacon of the Winfield First Baptist Church and was recently awarded the title Deacon Emeritus. Ed is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty June Earnest Trull, daughter, Brenda Trull Brand (William) of Fayette, son, Steve Trull (Marian) of Bankston, grandchildren, Ashley Davis Stough (David), Devin Davis, Jacob Trull and Jonah Trull, great grandchildren, Griff Stough, Ellie June Stough, nieces and nephews, David Trull, Tammy Box, Jeff Trull, Darren Roberts, Joseph Trull, Ross Trull, Jeff Godsey, Robin Shelton, Chris Godsey, Alycia Eady, Lynn Bostick, Ricky Earnest, Kellye Thoney, Jennifer Wooldridge and a host of special friends and other family members. Mr. Trull was preceded in death by his parents Griff Trull and Pearl May Trull and a brother, Jimmy “Jim” Trull. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday evening, February 6, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. from the Winfield First Baptist Church. The visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow on Thursday in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win.
