Mr. Fred Vincent Weeks, age 54 of Winfield passed away on Thursday, July 27th 2017. Vince was a 1980 Graduate of Winfield City High School and recently retired after 38 years in the coal mines. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Weeks, and grandparents, Ava Jo and Garfield Whitehead, and J.T. and Hattie Weeks. He is survived by his wife, Keela Nix Weeks of Winfield, his children, Kolby (Hilarie) Weeks of Winfield, and Jarrod (Beth) Weeks of Winfield, his mother, Brenda Whitehead Weeks of Winfield, grandchildren, Kaelyn and Keleigh, a brother, Kip (Chrissy) Weeks of Winfield, and his mother and father in law, Dalton and Suzanne Nix. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 30th from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Randy Deavors will Officiate. Mr. Major Lee Robinson, age 79 of Ft. Walton Beach Florida, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 in Ft. Walton Beach. Mr Robinson was a United States Army Veteran and was employed with Centel Telephone Company for over 33 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Eula Pugh Robinson, and a brother, Basil Robison. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen Howton Robinson, daughters, Susan (Todd) Scott of Winfield, and Tina Robinson of Ft. Walton, grandchildren, Brittany McCaleb of Jasper, and Austin Scott of Winfield, great grandchildren, Blakelyn McCaleb and Bryar McCaleb, and 3 brothers, Nathan Robison, James Hilton Robison, and Gary Robison. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13th from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in the Fayette Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Peggy Manasco Benton, age 63 of Winfield, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Diversicare Healthcare Center in Winfield. Peggy was a lifelong resident of Winfield and the surrounding area, a graduate of Hartselle High School and attended Athens State College. She is preceded in death by her parents, Beverly Dane and Mary Ellen Frazier May. Peggy is survived by her son, Brian (Beth) Saint of Winfield, daughters, Juliet Roby and Sasha Harris of Winfield, grandsons, Caleb and Noah Saint, Praisely, Zanna, Kyson and Bronson, a brother, Floyd (Jaretta) McNutt and close relatives, Tony and Roseanne Rainey. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. David Harold Keeton, age 69 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, July 8th at his residence. Mr. Keeton was a United States Army and Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Winfield First United Methodist Church. Mr. Keeton was employed with Continental Conveyor Equipment Company for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Ila Dean Cotton Keeton, mother in law, Robbie Gilstrap, sisters Jackie Fowler, Laura Brown, Shirley Markham, and Sally Spiller, and Olene Berryhill, and a brother Robert Keeton. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Miles Keeton, daughter, Kelly Peoples (Malcolm) of Murfreesboro, TN, grandson Jon David Corkren, great granddaughter Abby Mae Corkren, sisters, Connie Elliott (Earl) and Joyce Ann (James) Farris, and a brother James Richard (Dixie) Spiller, brother in law James (Dianne) Miles. Aunts, Nell Dickinson and Ida Skelton, uncles, Dr. j. E. Keeton and Frankie Keeton and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 10th from the Winfield First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in West Alabama Memorial Gardens.
