Mr. Willie “Mack” Godsey, age 70, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at his residence.  Mack worked in the coal industry for 33 years. He is survived by his wife of 48 years 3 months and 16 days, Nettie Godsey of Winfield, son, Waylon Godsey of Jasper, daughter Tawana McCrory of Russellville, grandchildren, Carter and Elizabeth Godsey and Hayden McCrory, very special friends, Chris Gilmore and Jill Alston and a host of relatives and close friends. Mr. Godsey is preceded in death by his mother, Willie Belle Bailey Godsey. Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. from Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Nannie B Dozier, age 86, of the Hubbertville community, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 surrounded by her family, in the UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Nannie B is preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Daisy Sprinkle Brazil, her husband, Verlon Dozier, brother, J. D. Brazil, granddaughter, Ashley Nichole Dozier and a sister in laws, Ruby Smith, Faye Beasley and brother in law, J.D. Dozier.  She is survived by her children, Janice Owens (Steve) of Fayette, Karen Tucker (Dennis) of Bankson, Bobbie McCraw (Bill) of Hubbertville, James Dozier (Barbara) of Northport, Wayne Dozier of Lamar Co., Jimmy Dale Dozier (Susan) of Brierfield, Jacky Dozier (Annette) of Bankston, Andy Dozier of Hubbertville and Donald Dozier of Hubbertville, grandchildren, Jo, Nick, Stephanie, Courtney, Jodi, Debbie, Paul, Matt, David, April, Steven, Jonathan, Amanda, Melissa, Brandon, Jack, Coby, Brittany, Brian, Lindsey and Kevin, 38 great grandchildren, brother, Ted Brazil, sisters, Loutine Thomas, Joyce Ferguson (Gene), Maxine Barton and Estell Rushing, sister in laws, Rosa Lee Box and Remona Dozier and special friend Lounell Tucker, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Patricia “Patsy” Roberts Brasher, age 82 of Winfield, passed away and was reunited with the love of her life on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Patsy and Max were married for 65 years.

Mrs. Brasher was a member of the Winfield First United Methodist Church and retired from GTE telephone company after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband Max C. Brasher, her parents, Joe Murphy and Sally Elizabeth Roberts, grandson Noah Brasher and a brother, Richard A. Roberts.

She is survived by her sons, J. Max “Little Max” Brasher (Pam) and Allen Brasher (Melissa) both of Winfield, grandchildren, Clay Brasher (Kristen) of New York, Meagan Emerson of Hodges, Madison Brasher of Winfield, Jeremy Fikes of Anniston,  great grandchildren, Alyssa Emerson, and one “on the way”, Thomas Clay Brasher, brothers, Tom Roberts (Martha) of Birmingham, Joe Roberts (Mindy) of Sandy Springs, Maryland, sister in laws, Jane Roberts of Canfield, OH, Shirley Ann Gladden (George Ray) of Fayette, brother in laws, Dale Brasher, Sr. of Winfield, John Brasher (Doris) of Fayette, special caregiver, Michelle Gunnin and grand pups, Tide and Oliver.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brasher will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 12:00 noon from the Winfield First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the McConnell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon (service time) on Thursday at the church. Bro. Ms. Mary Jo Dwyer, age 75, of Winfield passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in the ECM Hospital in Florence. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Erdeal Vickery Bryant and a brother, James Wayne Bryant. Mary is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Dwyer of Clarksville, TN, and sisters, Betty Harrold (Maurice), Bonnie Ganey, Pat Peoples and Jackie Bryant all of Winfield. A memorial service for Mary will be announced at a later date by the Bowen Funeral Home.
