Mr. Herald D. Bostick, age 94, of Brilliant, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mr. Bostick was a 1942 graduate of Brilliant High School and a World War II Army Veteran earning the rank of Master Sargent. Mr. Bostick was always very active in his community and a faithful member of the Goldmine Church of Christ in Brilliant.

Mr. Bostick was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Vivon Joyce Threadgill Bostick, a grandson, John Allen Holt and a sister, Veda Mae Goodwin. He is survived by his children, Rosemary Holt (Buddy) of Brilliant, Dwight Bostick (Fran) of Hoover, and Martha Burleson (Billy Wayne) of Brilliant. Four grandchildren, Paul, Joseph, Andrea, and Abbie, seven great grandchildren, Chance, Pace, Braden, Whit, Pearl, Tripp and Bo, two great- great grandchildren, Lexton and Jensyn and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Bostick will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with military honors being presented, burial will follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home

Mr. Robert Ellis Haney, age 72, of Fayette formerly of Brilliant, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Haney was a 1967 graduate of Brilliant High School and United States Army Vietnam Veteran.

Ellis is survived by his wife of 19 years, Martha Marcum Haney of Fayette, children, Chip Hollis of Winfield, Billie Davis (Jeff) of Winfield, Jackie Lambert of Fayette and Chrissy Weeks (Kip) of Winfield, twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, sisters, Wanda Taylor of Winfield, and Debra Finch (Wayne) of Hamilton, brothers, Kermit Haney (Mable) of Brilliant and Roger Haney (Martha) of Hamilton and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Haney and Autie Beasley Haney, a wife, Peggy Haney, daughter, Amy Marie Haney, sisters, Hattie White, Joyce Perez, Melba Pollard, and Billie Miles, brothers, John Dallas Haney, and Maurice Ray Haney.

Funeral services for Mr. Haney will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the El Bethel United Methodist Cemetery in Fayette with military honors being presented at the graveside. The visitation will be held on Wednesday July 17, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Haney family.

Mrs. Glenda Lou Tilley Bull, age 78 of Winfield passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Mrs. Bull was born on June 23, 1941, in Winfield Alabama, to Glenn and Mary Webster Tilley. She grew up in Winfield and graduated from Winfield City High School in 1959. On March 13, 1959 she married Robert Earl Bull. Glenda earned her Bachelor of Education, Masters of Education, and Double A of Education from the University of Alabama. She taught 1st grade at Winfield City Elementary Schools for over 32 years. Glenda loved square dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Winfield for over 60 years.

Mrs. Bull was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Mary Tilley. She is survived by her husband, Robert Bull, daughter, Cassandra (Mike) Renfroe of Winfield, granddaughter LaVette ( Ben) Hazelwood of Pell City, grandson Glendon ( Dana) Renfroe of Winfield, seven great grandchildren, Luden, Caden, Anna-Brooke, Ben, Laine, Will, Kylie, a baby Renfroe on the way, her “girls” Millie and Tinker Bell, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bull will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Winfield. Brother Steve Stamps and Brother C. W. Box will be the officiating ministers. Mr. Homer Plunkett, age 88 of Berwyn, IL formerly of Winston County Alabama, passed away, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in the Foster G. McGaw Hospital in, Proviso Township, IL.

Mr. Plunkett was born on January 17, 1931, the twelfth of thirteen children, to Dyer Plunkett and Martha Dunn Plunkett, in Winston County, AL. Homer grew up in the Winston County area and attended school in Lynn, AL. On November 28, 1953 Homer married the love of his life, Miss Winnie Jo McDonald from Fayette County, AL, just before entering into the United Sates Army three months later.  Mr. Plunkett was a factory worker in Illinois for many years, he was also an all-around handyman, he could do almost anything, from painting and electrical work to repairing a car. He was a member of Berwyn Church of Christ in Berwyn, IL. Mr. Plunkett loved his family his friends and a great cup of coffee.

Mr. Plunkett was preceded in death by his parents, and eleven siblings. He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Winnie McDonald Plunkett, a brother, Thurman Plunkett of Adamsville, AL, a sister in law, Margaret Sue McDonald Sodaro and her husband Lee of Berwyn, IL a brother in law, Earl McDonald and his wife Merle of Winfield, AL, and a host of niece, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Plunkett will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win, military honors will be presented at the gravesite. James Wyers will be the officiating minister. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. service time. Bowen Funeral Home serving the Plunkett family.
