Mr. Homer Dewey Willoughby, III, age 72 of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.
Homer was born on October 2, 1948 in Birmingham, AL to Homer D. Willoughby, II and Margie Kuykendall Willoughby. He was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church, a 1967 graduate of Jones Valley High School in Birmingham and obtained his business degree from Jacksonville State University. Mr. Willoughby and his business partners were owner/operators of Peregrine Corporation for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melba Meharg Willoughby, two sons, Curtis Willoughby and Scott Willoughby both of Winfield, a granddaughter, Kenley Willoughby of Hackleburg, and two nephews, Richard Noel (Thanh) of Atlanta and Donny Noel (Tracy) of Brilliant and a host of other relatives and friends. Homer was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vickie Motley.
Funeral services for Mr. Willoughby will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Mr. Eugene Edward Elliott better known as Eddie age 95 of Glenn Allen formerly of Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2020 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton.
Eddie was born in Evarts, KY on March 12, 1925 to Frank Edward Elliott and Rebecca Gollaway Elliott. Mr. Elliott was a member of A New Hope Baptist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge and served in the United States Navy and Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dolores Elliott, his children, Russell Elliott (Vicki) of Plantersville, MS, Donna Quick of Birmingham and Cheryl Feltman of Meridian, MS and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild and other relatives, church family and friends.

Ms. Tammy Kaye Wideman, age 60 of Guin, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, James Aaron Wideman, her step-father, Jimmy Nathan Robertson, a brother, Allen Mark Wideman. Tammy is survived by her mother, Jeanette "Judy" Robertson of Guin, her children, Chad (Brittany) Reid of Winfield, Jamey (Marsha) Reid of Savannah, GA, Casey C. Whitson of Guin, Courtney (Steve) Whitson Fowler of Wayside, and Jake Henderson of Guin, her grandchildren, Alexa, Gaven, Jaxon, Bryleigh, Leah, Layton, Lydia, Hannah, Mikah, and Kian, 4 great grandchildren, a sister, Darlene Perkins (Carl) of Guin, two brothers, James Jeffrey Wideman and David Wideman (Allison) all of Guin, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Tammy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6th from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Dortha Dean (Dot) Mattox, age 89, of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Winfield, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Daphne, Alabama.
Mrs. Mattox was raised in Winfield, Alabama and attended the University of North Alabama, formerly Florence State Teachers College. She and her husband moved to Pensacola in 1957, where she raised her family and taught school at Bellview Middle School and Pine Forest High School. She was an award-winning artist and member of Quayside Art Gallery in Pensacola.
Mrs. Mattox was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Mattox, Jr., her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady W. Dillard, and her brother, James Grady Dillard. She is survived by her children, Dr. Mitzi Mattox Childs (Rick) of Fairhope, Rebecca Mattox Allbrook (Guy) of Birmingham, and Emily Mattox McGiboney (John) of Pensacola, grandchildren Lane McGiboney (Robbie), Sarah Childs, Daniel Childs (Alexis), Jacob Gwarjanski, and Jordan Gwarjanski, great grandchildren, Ellen and Mason McGiboney and Camille Chandler, siblings Faye Garrison, William Dillard, and Angelyn McGaha.
