Loretta Norris, age 57 of Jasper, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 in the Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper. The funeral service for Loretta will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Timothy Robert Sprinkle, age 59, of Winfield, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at his residence. Mr. U. L. Long, age 90, of Eldridge, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Long was a member of the Eldridge Church of Christ and a United States Army Veteran. He was very proud and well known for his carpentry skills, he worked in the coal mines most of his working life until his retirement.

L. is survived by his wife of 53 years, Glynda Tidwell Long, son, James Long (Jessica “Peaches”) of Eldridge, daughter, Sabrena Long Handley (Mike) of Winfield, grandchildren, Drew Long (Mallory) of Eldridge, Allie Sims (Kyle) of Hamilton, Jacob Handley of Decatur, and Austin Handley of Winfield, and a sister, Patsy Tucker of Eldridge and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Benjamin Long and Rosa Savannah Lambert Long, sisters, Clara Long Farris, Christine Long Farris, Opal Long Armstrong and Cleo Long, brothers, Bill Long, Cecil Long, Ellis Long and Charles Ray Long.

The funeral service for Mr. Long will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Eldridge Church of Christ, with burial to follow in the Kelley Cemetery. Gilbert Behel, Lonnie Ingram and Derek Porter officiated the service. Mr. Howell Jack Holt, age 81 of Brilliant, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Mr. Holt was born on March 9, 1938 in Brilliant, Alabama.   He served in the United States Air Force and Army National Guard for 26 years.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Shirley Holt, his children, Lowell Gene Holt of Winfield, Debbie Bolling (Steve) of Winfield and Jack Daniel Holt (Shelly) of Huntsville, grandchildren’s, Dylan Holt, Taran Holt, Aaron Bennett, Andrew Bennett, Chloe Holt, Natalie Lucas, four great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and his sister, June East of Millington, TN and an host of other family and friends. Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Holt and Sarah Margaret Farris Holt, a grandson, Christopher Allen Holt, one sister and three brothers.

The funeral service for Mr. Holt will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery. The visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Charlie Rawls will be officiating minister and Steve Tidwell will serve as song leader.
