Mrs. Nellie Jean Cowan Enis, age 86 of the Bazemore Community passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Nellie was born in Fayette County, AL on November 20, 1936 to Andrew David Cowan, Sr. and Leah McCollum Cowan and was a member of the Piney Grove Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Enis, a sister, Gertie L. Farris and a brother, Andrew D. Cowan, Jr., five grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Leah Cowan, a son, Jimmy Ray Enis, sisters, Luteen Cowan and Willie Mae Nalls, brothers, Ailus, Clidus, Perry, Thurman and Marvin Cowan.

A visitation for Mrs. Enis will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Piney Grove Cemetery. Bowen Funeral Home serving the Enis family.

Mr. Willard Lee Dodd better known as Lee, age 61 of Eldridge passed away on January 10, 2021 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.

Lee attended Hubbertville High School and worked in the mining industry for 35 years until he retired at the age of 55. He was an avid Alabama Football fan, dirt track racer, and hunter, but most importantly of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lee loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and his mining brothers and friends.

Lee is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shelia Tittle Dodd, daughters, Wendy Armstrong (TJ) of Jasper, and Tara Crumpton (Keith) of Hubbertville, son, Josh Dodd (Weezie) of Guin, grandchildren, Madison, Blake, Kaylee, Jordan, Bridget, Addi, Tyson “Ty”, Anna and Riggs, his father, Lester Bo Dodd (Helen), a sister, Kay Rutledge (Hank), brothers, Kenny and Jeremy Dodd, a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Priscilla “Cill” Dodd, and a granddaughter, Alexandria McKenley Barnes.

Funeral services for Lee will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Whites Chapel Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home.

Mr. William Scott Thompson better known as Bill passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Nina Bowen Thompson, son, Drew Thompson, his mother Lessie Wates Thompson, sisters, Shirley Rayburn and Sharon Smith (Donnie), brothers, Gary and Tim Thompson, sisters in law, Johnnie Thompson and Debra Lang (Alan), stepson, Anthony McCaleb (Lisa), a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father, George Thompson, a son, Grant Thompson, and brother, Wayne Thompson.

A private family service for Bill will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens.

Jaxon David Marks, infant son of Zachery and Whitney Colley Marks went to be with Jesus January 5, 2021.

Jaxon was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Billy Gene Marks, Deloris Colley, Aubrey and Faye Underwood. He is survived by his parents, Zachery and Whitney Marks of Brilliant, grandparents, David and Lori Colley of Brilliant, Steve and Lisa Marks of TN, great grandparents, Bill and Velma Stults of TN and Yvonne Marks of TN a host of aunts, uncles and other relatives.

A private graveside service for Jaxon will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. Bowen Funeral Home serving the Marks family.
