Mr. David Wayne Pollard, age 78 of Florence, formerly of Brilliant, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021.

Mr. Pollard was a member of the Nauvoo Church of God and taught the men’s Sunday School Class for over 40 years. He was a 1959 graduate of Brilliant High School, a United States Army veteran and owner/operator of David’s Used Cars for over 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Pollard, sons, Paul Andy Pollard and David Dwayne Pollard, grandchildren, Colten Pollard and Drake Pollard, and a great grandson, Eli Pollard. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Aaron Pollard and Vera Lee Flippo Pollard, a wife, Carol Ann Pollard and a brother, Larry Pollard.  

Funeral services for Mr. Pollard will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.(service time) at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Pollard family.

Mr. Thomas Milford Stocks, age 91 of Winfield, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.

Mr. Stocks was a member of the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church, he graduated from Winfield City High School, and was member of the American Legion Post 100 in Winfield. Thomas served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and 33 years in the Alabama Army National Guard. He later worked with Continental Conveyor and Equipment until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Pauline Taylor Stocks, his two sons, Gregory Stocks (Joyce) of Winfield and Jeffery Stocks (Della) of Goldsboro, NC, his grandchildren, Anthony Stocks (Mackenzie), Amy Locke (Chad), Allison Bowen, Lance Eaves, Whitney Harris, Brittany Boykin, Lauren Rouse (Brandon), Taylor Stocks (Katelyn) and Hannah Stocks, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and his church family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Delmer Stocks and Burma Lee Galloway Stocks, a great grandson, Alexander Locke and four brothers.

The funeral servicefor Mr. Stocks will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from the West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win. The visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m(service time) at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home serving the Stocks.

Mrs. Dulene Pugh Townley, Age 78 of Winfield, Passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Mrs. Townley was a member of Shepherd’s Field Church and a 1961 graduate of Marion County High School. She was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and enjoyed spending time with her husband, her children, and grandchildren.

Dulene is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rickey Townley, daughter, Amanda Tidwell (Ricky), son Tommy Meharg (Angie) grandchildren, Traci Norris (Wade), Mallory Long (Drew), Cory Meharg, Brandon Meharg and her great granddaughter, Aubrey Jade “AJ” Norris, sister-in-law, Brenda Rawles, a brother-in-law, Hubert Townley (Debbie), stepsons, Shane, Christopher and Nicholas Townley, a host of nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends and church family.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. from the Liberty Cemetery near Rock City. Dr. Larry J. Wates will be the officiating minister. Bowen Funeral Home of WInfield serving the Townley family.

Mrs. Janet Marie McCaleb Spann, age 68 of Winfield, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Spann was employed with Carraway/Northwest Medical Center in Winfield for many years.

Janet is survived by her husband of 51 years, Steve Spann, her children, Cindy Hubbert (Joel) of Winfield, Nancy Inman (Chris) of Winfield, Stephanie Corkren (Jonathan) of Navarre, FL, and Jeff Spann of Winfield, grandchildren, Hilarie Weeks, Hope Meherg, Emma Howell, Sydney Stanley, Jon Austin Corkren, Haley Watts and Taylor Spann, great grandchildren, Kaelyn Weeks, Avery Meherg, Aaron Meherg and Reese Stanley and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olus McCaleb and Mary Mills McCaleb, a sister, Diane Trombetta, and a brother Dennis McCaleb.
