Mr. Johnny Paul Marcum, age 73, of Glen Allen passed away on Thursday, August 26,2021 at Diversicare in Winfield. Mr. Marcum was born on January 19, 1948 to Bryan and Ollie Marcum. Mr. Marcum attended Brilliant High School and worked as a mechanic for many years at Billy Joe Hollingsworth’s Body Shop.

Mr. Marcum is survived by his sons Danny Marcum (Rhonda) of Guin, and Shannon Marcum of Glen Allen, grandchildren, Devin, Makala, Erica, and Christopher Marcum, four great grandchildren, Harper, Ansley, Wilder, and Kimber, one sister, Betty Jean Vickery of Winfield, and three brothers, Tommy Marcum of Brilliant, Michael Marcum (Jaquana) of Fayette, and Wendell Marcum of Winfield.

Mr. Marcum is preceded in death by his parents, Bryan Marcum, and Ollie Beasley Marcum, sister, Shirley Carpenter, and three brothers, Cleburn Marcum, Charles Marcum, and Thomas Bryan Marcum.

Graveside services for Mr. Marcum will be held on Saturday August 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Berea Church of Christ Cemetery.

Mrs. Bessie Louise Cox better known as Louise, age 89 of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Mrs. Cox was born on June 25, 1932 in Forrest City, AR to Andrew and Nellie Hastings.

Mrs. Cox is survived by her children, Patricia Akers (Rodney) of Taylor, MI, son, James Cox of Detroit, MI and Patsy Barnett (Tim) of Winfield, grandchildren, Tammy Farr (Rob), Carol Carroll (Jerry), Geraldine Hulsey (Danny), Timothy Barnett, Billie Barnett, Misty Hosburgh (Rob), Crystal Barnett, Luke Cox (Destiny), Cassie Dudonis (Perry), Ellie Blaylock, Amy Adams, David Cox, Jamie Cox, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, sister, Jean Witt of LA, brother, George Hastings (Ruth) of AR and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Nellie Williams Hastings, her husband, Dewey Cox, Jr., a son, Bobby Cox, great grandson, Timothy Jacob Barnett, brothers, Roy and Bud Hastings, and sisters, Wilma Riggs, and Mildred Aunspaugh.

Funeral services for Louise will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery near Hodges. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Jerri Consuelo Lucas, age 49 of Winfield, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021. She was born on February 10, 1972, 3 weeks after the passing of her father. Consuelo was the daughter of Jerry MacArthur Lucas and Gladys Dillard Lucas. She was a 1992 graduate of Hamilton High School and lived in Marion County her entire life.  She was employed with Sitel as a call center representative. She loved her work and flourished at it, she loved talking to people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend and her family. She loved cooking, taking care of her kitty, being on the water, and music.

She is survived by the man she loved, Jeff Hughes, children, David, Jay and Annagrace Spiller, her mother and stepfather, Gladys and Wayne Irvin, sisters, Phyllis Frye (Scott), Debra Perry (Barry) and Tracy Cordova (Gama), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. 

Jerri was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Lucas, a stepfather, Lee Wilson, stepbrother Rodney Crowe, grandparents Arthur Lee and Shalar Lucas and Clyde and Willie Dillard.

Funeral services for Consuelo will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery near Detroit. Mrs. Patricia Ann Estes, age 71, of Winfield, Al passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Mrs. Estes was born in Winfield on April 9, 1950 to Clayton and Pauline Elliot.

Mrs. Estes was a 1968 graduate of Winfield High School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Business and Commerce Administration. Patricia worked with the Internal Revenue Service of Alabama for over 36 years and retired in 2016.

Patricia is survived by her son David Estes (Michelle) and two grandsons Clay and Matthew Estes, husband, Larry Estes, brother, Ken Elliott (Margaret), sisters, Paula Elliott, Kathy Cashman (Guy), Sandra Otto (Mark), nephew, Mark Elliott (Gayla), niece, Amber DeVries (Kyle), two great nieces, Kylie and Kate, two great nephews, Nolan and Elliot, and a host of other family and friends.

Mrs. Estes was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Pauline Hicks Elliot and a brother Wayne Elliott.

Funeral services for Mrs. Estes will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Chapel with a private burial to follow at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Northport Church of Christ, 2700 44th Ave, Northport, AL, 35476  in care of African Missions.
