Mrs. Carolyn B. Tucker, age 83, of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Mrs. Tucker was born on April 5, 1939 in Vernon, Alabama to Clark Boman, Sr., and Lily Black Boman. Carolyn was a 1957 graduate of Vernon High School. She was employed with Liberty National Life Insurance as an office manager for over 24 years. In her spare time, she loved to work in the yard, and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and beloved dogs.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her sons, Mike Tucker (Donna), Jeff Tucker, and Greg Tucker (Christina), grandchildren, Judd Tucker, Dillon Tucker (Lauren), Jessica Lundberg (David), and Michael Tucker, great-grandchildren, Quentin and Marissa Tucker, brother, Clark Boman, Jr. (Betty), her fur baby, Sadie, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Tucker, her parents, sisters, Lou Dean Jordan, Dot Crawford, Polly Armstrong, and Lois Butler, brother, Ira Boman, and fur baby, Chloe.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tucker will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. The visitation will be on Saturday 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. William Edmond Posey, better known as Eddy, age 68 of Winfield passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. Eddy was born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 25, 1954 to Curtis Wilson Posey and Mary Rose Owsley Posey. Eddy was a 1973 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Heavy Duty Aftermarket Products from Northwood University. He was owner and operator of Winfield Truck Parts for over 20 years and currently service manager for Waters International. Eddy was a member and Deacon Emeritus at the Winfield First Baptist Church. He currently was serving on the Winfield City Council.

Funeral services for Eddy will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial in the Griggs Place Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. service time at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Winfield First Baptist Church Children’s Church Building Fund.

Jonathan Kyle South, age 45, passed away on December 3, 2022, only months after losing his loving wife, Amanda Gardner South. Amanda was not just his wife, she was his entire life, and he was lost without her. Jonathan was a gentle and sensitive soul, and he will forever be missed by his family and friends.
He was born February 24, 1977 in Amory, Mississippi to Johnny and Yvonne Hollis South. Jonathan was raised in Winfield, Alabama and graduated from Winfield City High School class of 1996. He attended the University of Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 2006. He went on to attend the University of New Orleans where he received a Master’s degree in Earth and Environmental Science in 2009.
Jonathan worked as an eBay entrepreneur. He was an avid hunter, and especially enjoyed hunting with his dad. He enjoyed collecting Grateful Dead memorabilia, baseball cards, rocks, and gemstones. His favorite pasttimes were restoring antique cars and collecting guns.
Jonathan leaves behind his parents, Johnny South and Yvonne Hollis South; sister, Brandice South Lewis (Charlie); niece, Madie Grace Lewis; nephews, Carson, Ryker, and Fletcher Lewis; parents-in-law, Russell and Becky Carothers and John and Wilda Gardner; brother-in-law, Greg Youngblood; sister-in-law, Julia Gardner; his beloved dogs, Zeiss, Tully, Davinci, Big Willie, and Mr. Chunk, plus a host of other family and friends.
Jonathan was preceded in death by the love of his life- his wife of 12 years, Amanda Gardner South; his sister, Jan South Youngblood; and his grandparents, Clifton and Florine Dobbins Hollis and Fletcher and Thelma Reed South.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time. A graveside service will follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the White Springs Christmas Fund held at The Citizens Bank of Winfield in memory of Jonathan and his beloved sister Jan South Youngblood.
