Mrs. Ava Dean Tidwell age 89, of Winfield passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin.

Mrs. Tidwell was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Nelson and R. V. Tidwell, parents, James W. and Leona Perry, sisters, Eardeal Couch and Florene Perry and brothers, Clodia Perry and James Henderson. She is survived by her children, Doug Nelson (Phyllis), Lana Hayes, Becky Barnes (Bobby), and Deborah Bobo, grandchildren, Lianne Robinson (Jason), Shelley Bigbie (Tyler), Brittney Salazar (Ely), Haley Bobo (Jared), great grandchildren, Emma, Luke and Anna Beth Robinson, Kensley Bryant, Addison Hines, Jackson Salazar, Kellan Farley, Brindyl Hyde and baby Bigbie on the way and a host of nieces, nephew, church family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tidwell will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Harmony Grove Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Tidwell family.

Mr. M. L. Hamric, age 88 of Winfield passed from this life on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Hamric was born on June 9, 1933 in Marion County, AL to Luther and Merney Norris Hamric. He was a longtime member of the Winfield Church of Christ and a 1951 graduate of Brilliant High School. Mr. Hamric was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. M. L. was employed with the Citizens Bank of Winfield for almost 50 years. He served the bank as a Teller, Loan Officer, Appraiser, Vice President, was also on the Board of Directors.

Mr. Hamric is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Mary Hallmark Hamric, his daughter, Deborah Couch (Larry), his grandchildren, Kevin Couch (Amanda), Lori Hubbert (Mark), Eric Couch (Cheryl), Paige Williams-Phillips (Brian) and Katie Barrett (Wesley), fourteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, brothers, R. L. Hamric and Luke Hamric, sisters, Emma Jean Norris, Jewell Holt, Christine Townley and Maxine Corkren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Merney Hamric.

Funeral services for Mr. Hamric will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. from the Winfield Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (service time) at the church.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Hamric family.

Mrs. Barbara Lou Lathum Chambless, age 81 of Guin, Al passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 surrounded by her family. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 49 yrs. Rev. B. D. Chambless, her daughter Nina Gail Chambless, parents, Angelo and Amy Lathum, sisters, Minnie Lawson and Maybell Gurthrie. She is survivor by her daughters, Ann Chambless Lumpkin (Rick) of Pelham, AL, and Melinda Chambless Nydegger (John) of Athens, AL, her sister, Shirley Lathum Todd, grandchildren, Amy Griffin, Kimberly Rhiannon Kruse, Reed, Logan and Sawyer Nydegger, great grandchildren, Dalton and Nick Griffin, Zaylie and Makayla Kruse, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Mrs. Chambless was born in Nauvoo, Al. on December 11, 1939 and graduated from Fayette County High School in 1958. Throughout the years Barbara had various jobs but loved being a stay-at-home Mom the best. She enjoyed gospel singings, gardening, caring for her animals and spending time with her family. She was a member of Gu-Win Baptist Church.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial and graveside service to follow at Sand Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Rev. Billy Carl Sullivan will be the officiating minister. Mr. James R. Harris better known as Jim, age 82 of Guin passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 in the Northwest Medical Center.

Mr. Harris was born on April 12, 1939 in Gattman, MS to John “Rip” and Virginia Mae White Harris. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Guin and a 1957 graduate of Marion County High School. Mr. Harris retired from 3M Company in Guin after many years of service.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Gail Harris, children, Connie Harris Bunker, Chele Miles (Wade) and James Harris (Christy), grandchildren, Ashley Longmore, Bailee Rose Bradshaw, Boone Bussey and Connor Harris, great grandchildren, Lavender and Lola Ferral and Duke Bradshaw and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rip and Mae Harris, his siblings, Stanley Harris, Earl Harris, Louis Dee Harris, Annie Bell Harris, Keith Harris, Charles Harris and Earnest Harris and his mother-in-law, Jimmie Lou Marcum.

Funeral services for Mr. Harris will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. from the Guin First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery near Guin. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the church.
