Ricky Lee Caudle, age 66 of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Caudle grew up in the town of Brilliant, AL. As a child he enjoyed being outdoors. He began working, push mowing yards, at a young age. This work ethic would continue to be the standard for him throughout his life as a coal miner and heavy equipment operator.

Mr. Caudle was preceded in death by his mother, Florene Hornsby Caudle, father, Hoyt Caudle, brother, Jerry Caudle. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Caudle Hendrix (Buddy) of Nauvoo, daughter, Kila Caudle Corkren (Chad) of Winfield, and son, Payton Caudle (Brandi) of Winfield, seven grandchildren, Mallory Corkren, Conner Corkren, Brooks Hendrix, Karsyn Caudle, Emma Marcum, Addisyn Caudle and Remington Caudle and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Caudle will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. We feel comfort knowing that he has received his ultimate healing and is rejoicing as he is reunited with those that have gone before him.

A private memorial service will be held for Mr. Caudle at a later date.

Mr. Mark Alan Barnes, age 61 of Tuscaloosa passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. 
Mark was born on September 30, 1959 to James and Millie Barnes in Selma, AL.  He was a 1977 graduate of Marion County High School and a United States Army Veteran.  Mark was employed with Universal Cryo Gas / UCG in Tuscaloosa.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends watching Alabama Football, Nascar racing and grilling.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his children, Amanda Barnes (Kodey Hawkins) of Tuscaloosa, Kaitlyn Parish (Danny) of Hamilton, Derek Barnes of North Carolina, Joseph Barnes of Winfield, and Katy Cole of Cleveland, OH, grandchildren, Kaiven Hawkins, Kannon Hawkins, Danny Oliver and Kayleona Hawkins, brothers, Craig Barnes, Jeff Barnes (Mary Ann) and Kent Barnes (Jackie), his ex-wife, Mary Barnes and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James Paul Barnes and Millie Gray Brown Barnes, grandson, Willum Parish and a sister-in-law, Vickie Barnes.
Funeral services for Mr. Barnes will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Sizemore Cemetery near Beaverton.  The visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.  Bowen Funeral Home of Winfield serving the Barnes family.

Mr. Billie Joe Hickman, age 82 of Winfield, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021. Mr. Hickman was born on October 2, 1938 in Dayton, Tennessee to Floyd and Mary Hickman. Mr. Hickman attended Bobo and Hubbertville schools and retired from the United States Navy in 1961.

Mr. Hickman is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda Wallace Hickman, son, James B. Eargle, brother, Roger Hickman (Kathy), sisters, Jackie Hollingsworth (Dale), Paulette Gann (Snook), Reba Alexander (Bobby), Bernice Farris (Jimmy), Kay Webster (Don), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by sons, Duane Joe Hickman and Kenneth Troy Hickman, his parents, Floyd Hickman, and Mary Margaret Miles Hickman, brothers, Johnnie, Donald, and Freddie Hickman, infant brothers, Wayne and Ralph Hickman, and an infant sister, Margaret Ann Hickman.

Mr. Elbert Earl Ivie, Sr. of Winfield, AL passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021, at the age of 95, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin, AL. He was born on December 8, 1925. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Bostick, on September 8, 1945. During their 69 years of marriage, Dot and Ivie were rarely apart and served the Lord and their community well. Each day started with breakfast, devotional and prayer and their lives reflected that strong faith.

Ivie, along with his wife, owned and operated Ivie’s Supermarket in Winfield for many, many years. They were avid Alabama fans and attended every football and basketball game they could. They loved to travel with their family and friends to games and to various places throughout the United States. Ivie loved to play golf and was one of the initial members of Pikeville Country Club. When he wasn’t at the grocery store or church, you could find him on the golf course.

On October 4, 2020, he was honored with the title Deacon Emeritus of the Winfield First Baptist Church. He served 60 plus years as an active member of the Winfield Lions Club and presided in many official capacities during his time.

He is survived by his sons Elbert Earl Ivie, Jr (Barbara) and Michael Allen Ivie (Elizabeth) both of Winfield, AL; grandchildren Tabitha Lee (Robert), Michael Allen Ivie II, Everett, Benjamin, and Andrew Ivie; great-grandchildren Zachary Southern (Sam), Brody Southern and Elle Ivie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents H. E. and Ethel Ivie; siblings, Laura Ann Rhody, and Sue Nell Mobley; granddaughter Jessica Carr Ivie; and his beloved wife of 69 years Dorothy Bostick Ivie.

Ivie will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife in Winfield City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Lynn, Jimmy Dale Miles, Bill Atkinson’s Sunday School Class and members of the Winfield Lions Club. Many thanks to Country Place Assisted Living, Morning View Estates (formerly Morning Side of Fayette, AL), Kemp Meadows, Kindred Care Hospice and Dr. Ronnie Moss for the care each of you provided during his stay. He loved each and every one of you and we are forever grateful.

Funeral services for Mr. Ivie will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.
