Mr. Nathan Boake Wilds, age 84 of Brilliant, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Wilds will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Terry Hugh Martin, better known as Hugh, age 65, of Brilliant passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Hugh was born in Haleyville, Alabama on May 23,1957 to Buster and Wynell Berryhill Martin. He was a member of the Brilliant Church of God where he served as Sunday school superintendent and the church maintenance director. He was a 1975 graduate of Brilliant High School and founder of the Rock City Bass Club. Hugh loved fishing, Brilliant High School and Auburn football. In 2009 he was inducted into the Marion County Sports Hall of Fame. He was always an active member of the Brilliant community, he assisted in founding the Brilliant Toybowl Association and served as a coach and officer for many years. Hugh loved spending time and cooking for his family and friends, most of whom considered him a master griller.

Hugh is survived by his wife of 23 years, Eva Henderson Martin, sons, Ty Martin and his wife Megon, Matthew Martin and his wife Emily, Matthew Crane, Dakota Martin and his wife Briana, Jeremy Martin, and Bryan Martin, daughters, Allison Duckworth and her husband Colby, Sarah Beth McNutt and her husband Trent, and Letty Grayce Martin, grandchildren, Anna Kate, Morgan, Kye, Aiden, Jaxon, Nella Brook, Wyatt, Brantley, Blaine, Brooklyn, and Bryson, great grandson, Wilder, sister, Ann Owens and her husband Mike, niece Micha Owens, 27 foster children that he loved as his own, and a host of other family members, church family and friends.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos “Buster” Martin and Wynell Berryhill Martin.

Funeral services for Hugh will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. from the Brilliant Church of God with burial to follow in the Martin-Berryhill Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. service time at the church.

Mrs. Catherine Lynn Mason Crook, better known as Lynn, age 60, of Winfield, Alabama passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at her residence. Lynn was born on December 12, 1961 in Maryland to Alan and Jean Swell Mason. Mrs. Crook was a member of the Winfield First United Methodist Church and enjoyed being an active member of the choir and bell choir. Lynn was a gifted artist and musician, playing guitar and singing for much of her life. She was a graduate of Clear Lake High School in Houston, Texas, and Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. She had a number of careers in her life, working in the space program, at a chemical plant, for the soil conservation office, with the local paper, and in the loan industry. Lynn spent several years with her daughter at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital while battling Megan’s leukemia and was an active spokesperson for St. Jude’s. She was also active in supporting Habitat for Humanity and other local causes. Lynn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, focusing her time on her family.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Robert D. Crook of Winfield, son, Kevin Crook and his wife Hannah of Caledonia, MS., daughter, Megan Crook Taylor, and her husband Trevor of Winfield, three grandchildren, Caison, Karissa and Makayla, her brother, Craig Mason (Muriel), brothers-in-law, Terry Crook (Leta) and Ben Crook (Sukai), and sister-in-law, Beth Crook James (Reggie) and a number if nieces and nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Alan and Jean Mason, her sister, Elizabeth Ann Mason, and in-laws, Ferrell and Gerald Crook.
Funeral services for Lynn will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church of Winfield. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Tristan Javin Hosch age 39, of Winfield passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at his residence. Javin was born on August 11, 1982 to Earnest and Tonie Trimm Hosch. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked spending his spare time hunting, fishing, and watching his nephew play baseball. Javin enjoyed spending time with his pets, family and friends, his greatest love in life was his mother.

Javin is survived by his wife, Sunday Hosch, son, Tate Lawrence and his wife Haley, daughter, Laiken Hosch ,stepdaughters, Lisa Michelle Kerley and her husband Dax, and Marianne Walker and her husband Phil, mother, Tonie Dodd, brother, Jason Hosch and his wife Shandell, sister, Christie Duckworth and her husband Robert, nieces, Donya Rogers and her husband Steve, Haley Hosch, Dayla Mestizo, and Deejah Lockhart, nephew, Jarett Hosch, aunts, Ann Robins and her husband Jim, and Wanda Guin and her husband Wesley, his beloved pets, Bully, Caleb, Tula, Turbo, Josh, Missy, Best Friend -Trouble, Tara, and Bucky the cat, and a host of other family members and friends.

Javin was preceded in death by his father, Earnest “Ernie” Hosch, stepfather, Donnie Dodd, grandparents, Milford and Ruth Trimm and Estelle and Cliff Hosch, aunts, Ruth Fields, and Imojean Roberts and two dogs, Mudgie and Toby.

Funeral services for Javin will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00p.m. until 2:00p.m. service time at the funeral home.
