Mrs. Elizabeth Ann James better known as Ann or "Nanna", age 80, of Winfield passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 in the Grandview Medical Center. Ann “Nanna” was born in Benton, Arkansas on November 23, 1943 to Charles Ferman and Ruby McDonald May. Ann “Nanna” was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Winfield and a graduate of Deshler High School. She spent much of her life as a homemaker caring for her family. Ann “Nanna” liked to live life to its fullest, she enjoyed, shopping, going to the Wellness Center, traveling, sitting on the deck watching her dogs and hummingbirds, eating Mexican, and spending time with family and friends.

Ann “Nanna” is survived by her daughter, DeLena Langley (Thomas), grandson, Dalton Langley (Sarah), sister-in-law, Becky Hightower, nieces, Brooke Pate (Shaun), Britney Biehn (Andrew), Angela Mitchell, (Mark), and Pam Archer (Joey), nephews, Tommy James (Cheryl) and Andy DeVany, cousin and “ride or die”, Gaynell Dunavant, and a host of great nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ann “Nanna” was preceded in death by her husband, Horace James, and brother, Wayne May.

Funeral services for Ann “Nanna” will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary E. Vintson, age 81, of Winfield passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 in the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. She was born in Centre, Alabama on December 29, 1942 to Claud Trantham and Verna Louise Owens Carroll. Mary was a member of Guin First Baptist Church. She was employed with Walmart of Winfield as an associate and later as assistant manager until her retirement after 30 years of service. Mary loved God, she dearly loved her husband Jim, her children and grandchildren, she loved to work, and she loved her Walmart family who often referred to her as “Momma Mary”.

Mrs. Vintson is survived by her daughter, Vandy Doss (Blane), son, Victor Vintson, grandchildren, Jacob Doss (Callie) and Kara Bullard (Ricky), great grandchildren, Cade, Lanie, and Jack Blane Doss and Madison, Marleigh, Mia and KT, daughter-in-law, Rhonda Vintson, sister-in-law, Linda Carroll, special friend, Kim Prescott, her sitters, Cecilia Randolph and Tiny Farrell, her Walmart family, her church family, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vintson was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Vintson, stepfather, William Carroll, infant grandson, Joseph Lance Doss, grandson, Blake Vintson, and brothers, Ronzie, Bo, and Robert Carroll.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vintson will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barbara Joyce Maddox Stiles, age 74, of Winfield passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 at her home. Mrs. Stiles was born in Fayette, Alabama on August 10, 1949 to Leamon and Exie South Maddox. She was a member of the Brilliant Methodist Church and a graduate of Fayette County High School. Barbara retired from the phone company as supervisor of phone service installation. She continued to work after retirement with Drive Line as a merchandiser. In her spare time Barbara liked to garden, she loved her family and enjoyed spoiling her fur baby, Toby, and her nieces and nephews whom she treated like her own children.

Mrs. Stiles is survived by stepdaughters, Dana Watkins (Mike) and Ashley Edge (Dustin), stepson, Jeff Stiles, grandchildren, Eleshia Bates and Jerica Galloway (Justin), great grandchildren, Keleigh Stiles, Kadence Galloway, and Kelsey Galloway, nephews, Scott Foster, Shane Foster, and Frederick Maddox, nieces, Melinda Manee, Karen McCarra, Tanya Hayes, Emily Maddox, and Sonia Lawson, her dog, Toby, and a host of great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stiles was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Stiles, sister, Nellie Sue Foster, and brothers, Louie, Hershel, Freddie, and Neal Maddox.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stiles will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Infant William Jacob Box was born sleeping on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Northport DCH Regional Medical Center. William is survived by his parents Jacob and Alana Box, grandparents Jamie and Mandi Ballard and Michael and Stacey Box, aunts and uncles, Jake Blake, and Hayden Ballard, Austin and Elizabeth Dean, and Katherine Box, cousins Samuel and Matthew Dean, great grandparents Larry and Pat Moore, Warren Ballard, Charolette Box, and Charlette Moore, great-great grandparents Danny and Faye Price, as well as a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, and other family. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents Larry Box, Christy Ballard, and James “Shorty” Moore and great-great grandparents.
