Mrs. Crystal Renee Sandlin age 55 of Winfield, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at her residence after a hard battle with cancer. Crystal was born on August 1, 1966 to John and Barbara Horner. She attended Bevill State Community College where she earned her associate degree, and later went on to the University of North Alabama, “UNA” where she received her degree in accounting. Crystal was a hard worker that loved her family. She was very proud of her father, sons, grandson and other family members that served and are serving in the United States Armed Forces.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bobby D. Sandlin of Winfield, children, Scott Feezell of Winfield, Brandie Westbrook her husband Justin of Winfield and Stephen Horner his wife Ashton of Guin, her grandchildren, Landon, Loghan, Kacen, Avery and Kelly on the way, parents, John and Barbara Horner of Haleyville, sisters, Lynn Hovey and husband David of TN, Tracye Harrison and her husband Danny of Haleyville and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Crystal is now reunited in Heaven with her grandson, Christian and her grandparents.                                                             

A memorial service for Crystal will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nevelyn Jean Cook Justice age 82 of Winfield, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on July 4, 2022, watched over by her son and daughter. Nevelyn is survived by her two children, Mark Justice of Winfield, AL and Jennifer Justice of Ukiah, CA and cousins, Dawn Hubbard Barnes (Danny), Jason Barnes (Casey), Jarrod Barnes (Jennifer), and Julia Barnes Honea (David).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dr. David Justice, parents Albert and Lillian Hubbard Cook and grandparents, Henry Grady and Bessie Missouri Rae Hubbard. Born on January 6, 1940 and raised in Rome, GA, Nevelyn attended West Rome High School and Shorter College. In her youth Nevelyn raised money for the March of Dimes, promoting the adoption of the polio vaccine and advocating for fellow disabled Americans. A gifted soprano and soloist, one of her greatest passions was singing in church choir and for community functions, first at Calvary Baptist Church of Rome, then later at Heflin Baptist and Winfield First Baptist Church. Most of all, she and David were proud parents to Mark and Jennifer and devoted themselves to volunteering and chaperoning for school events, high school band competitions, and many out-of-state field trips. She was a voracious reader, cat lover, and avid pianist. During her years in Heflin, she worked as a kindergarten teacher at Heflin Baptist and as Office Manager for Dr. Justice’s family medicine practice. For well over 20 years, Nevelyn was a dedicated Women’s Sunday School teacher at Heflin Baptist Church and Winfield First Baptist Church. After the couple’s move to Winfield in 1997, she volunteered at Northwest Regional Medical Center. She deeply cherished the lasting friendships she made in her Heflin and Winfield spiritual families.
Funeral services for Mrs. Justice will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Winfield First Baptist Church. The visitation will be on Thursday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the church.

Mrs. Belinda Kay Kimbrell Mann age 62, of Twin passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Mann was born in Winfield, Alabama on April 20, 1960 to Nathan and Barbara Gann Kimbrell. Belinda was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church and she attended Brilliant High School. She spent much of her life working in various textile plants in the area. Belinda loved spending time with her family, especially her great nieces which she loved as her own.

Mrs. Mann is survived by her husband of 25 years, Randy Mann, sister, Becky Williams, niece, Monica Wiginton (Cody), great nieces, AbbyJo and Adasyn Garrett and a host of other church family and friends.

In addition to her parents Belinda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clemmie and Claude Kimbrell and Doris and Lee Gann, and her brother-in-law, Danny Williams.

Funeral services for Belinda will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery near Brilliant. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sharon LeJeune Hullett age 75, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2022, in the North Mississippi Medical Center. Mrs. Hullett was born in Marion County, Alabama on July 5, 1946, to Robert and Myrtle McFarland Wilson. She was a member of The Shepherd's Field Church and was an avid reader. Mrs. Hullett attended the University of North Alabama where she received a master’s degree in education. After college Ms. Hullett pursued her career as a math teacher at Winfield City High School and Bevill State Community College where she later retired after over thirty years of service.
Sharon is survived by her son, Greg Hullett of Tupelo, daughter, Lori Hicks Webb (Michael) of Mantachie, MS, grandchildren, Harrison Dane Hullett and Kalven Ray Hicks, brothers, Chris Wilson (Ann) and Tom Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Hullett was preceded in death by a brother, Talmage Wilson and her sister, Paula Tittle.
