Mrs. Terry Belle Hallmark, age 88, of Eldridge passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 in the UAB Medical Center. Mrs. Hallmark was born in Fayette County, Alabama on June 11, 1936 to Claude and Cassie Johnson Dozier. She was a member of the New River Baptist Church and attended Hubbertville High School. Terry Belle worked with various textile plants in the area until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her flower bed and garden, sewing, and cooking.

Mrs. Hallmark is survived by her children, Debbie Lawrence (Jeff), Chris Hallmark (Janice), Dennis Hallmark (Angie), and Ricky Hallmark (Tonya), grandchildren, Adam Lawrence (LaDawn), Mallory Glover (Cedric), Chad Hallmark (Kellie), Courtney Gage (Gary), Charity Hallmark (Lee), Keshia Tucker (Corey), Nick Hallmark (Ashley), and Raine Hallmark (Stephanie), 20 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Mrs. Hallmark was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Eugene Hallmark, her parents, a grandson, Dustin Hallmark, and brothers, Billy and Ed Dozier.

Funeral service for Mrs. Hallmark will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the New River Baptist church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Monday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Deborah Kay Pate, better known as Debbie age 70, of Winfield passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 in the Brookwood Medical Center. Debbie was born in Winfield, Alabama on December 6, 1953 to Vester Lawrence and Bobbie Stewart Mullins. She was a 1971 graduate of Brilliant High School where she served as valedictorian and cheerleader. After high school she worked for more than 30 years with Gateway and Anvil Homes. She was a very hard and dedicated employee, once being awarded employee of the year by Gateway Homes. Debbie was a wonderful wife, mom, and granny. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Debbie always enjoyed going to the lake, grilling out, having family get togethers, and especially going to yard sales.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Tony Pate, son, Justin Nix (Tosha), grandchildren, Tyler Nix, Dakota Nix, Danielle Busby, Trenton Raper, and Abigail Raper, great grandchildren, Theo and Ris’ae Raper, Kason, Jaxon Busby, Remington Barnett, Charleigh Nix,  mother, Bobbie Mullins, brother, Dr. Eddie Lawrence (Dr. Mikki), brothers-in-law, Wayne Pate (Rhonda) and Larry Pate, sisters-in-law, Delina Carrol (Dan), Tina Murphy, and Brenda Wadsworth (Wayne), fur baby, Bella, special friends, Ashlyn Craig, Jeremie and Kristy Flemming, Macky McCaleb, and Kadence Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Vester Lawrence, her grandparents, and her great grandparents.

Mrs. Bertha Emogene Nuckols, age 96, of Eldridge passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 in the Fayette Long Term Care. Mrs. Nuckols was born in Eldridge, Alabama on October 6, 1927 to Alex and Susie McGough Alvis. She was a member of the Fern Springs Baptist Church. Emogene was employed for more than 20 years as a seamstress with Arrow Shirt Plant in Fayette, Alabama, and later worked with her husband in their furniture business. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working in her flower bed.

Mrs. Nuckols is survived by her daughters, Susan Farris (Jimmy), Karen Duckworth (Tommy), and Phyllis Killen, 8 grandchildren, a sister, Betty Swenney, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Mrs. Nuckols was preceded in death by her husband Bert S. Nuckols, her parents, a brother, Richard Alvis, and a sister, Geneva Alvis.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nuckols will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Fern Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.

Mr. James Ray Roby, age 95, of Winfield passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Roby was born on February 23, 1929 to Louie Harrison and Verla McCaleb Roby. James was a member of the Glen Allen Church of Christ and a 1948 graduate of Hubbertville High School. He was employed for much of his life as a warehouse supervisor with Jefferson Homes until his retirement.

Mr. Roby is survived by his brother, Rolland Roby (Kay), sister-in-law, Mary Roby, nephews, Curtis Roby (Kathy), Dewayne Roby (Lynn), and Derann Roby, niece, Denise Roby Harris, great nephews, Nathan Roby (Shena), Chris Roby (Molly), Caleb Roby (Stacy), and Charlie Roby (Kenleigh), great-great nephew, Brentley Roby, great-great nieces, Carly, Holly, Stevie, and Flossy Roby, special caregivers, Pat Taylor and Jeannie Hankins, and a host of other family members.

Mr. Roby was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Dean Whitehead, his parents, a brother, Roy Gene Roby, and his parents-in-law, Gary Lee and Myrtie Bel Whitehead.

Funeral services for Mr. Roby will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Whites Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis, Nathan, Chris, Dewayne, Caleb, and Derann Roby.
