Mrs. Mary Eloise Lawrence, better known as Eloise, age 92, of Winfield passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility surrounded by her family. Mrs. Lawrence was born in Vernon, AL on July 17, 1930 to Charles Monroe and Mary Etta Hulsey Huguley. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church and she attend Brilliant High School. Mrs. Lawrence spent much of her life working as a seamstress in the textile industry before her retirement. Some of her greatest joys in life were traveling with her husband, flowers and gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Elliott and her husband Bobby, and Wiletta Bull and her husband Gerald, grandchildren, Carla Spiller (Jason), Darrell Elliott (Heather), Brad Bull (Felisha), and Haley Peoples (Brad), great-grandchildren, Carson and Cannon Spiller, Christian and Cara Elliott, Brooke Bull, Brielle, Brinley and Brayley Peoples, a sister, Virginia Skelton of Birmingham, and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lawrence, her parents, brothers, Rayburn, Charles, Herbert, Hermon, and Leon Hugley, and sisters, Ruby Norris, and Helen Stanford.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lawrence will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. James David McDaniel better known as David age 72 of Winfield passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 in the DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. McDaniel will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home

Mrs. Carrie Sue Eads age 79 of Chicago, IL formerly of Eldridge went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2022. Carrie Sue was born on July 1, 1943 in Fayette County, AL to Samuel and Bethel Lee Dozier. She was a devoted Wife and Mother, beloved Daughter, Sister, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. To know Carrie Sue, was to love her. Throughout her life she was always hard working, independent, resilient, and even stubborn at times. Her smile and her laughter had the power to light up a room… a quality that carried throughout her life. Carrie Sue left behind a legacy of memories filled with fun, humor, and love. “Nana”, as we remember her, always loved the children and would let out pure joy with each embrace. As we remember Carrie Sue today, and always, we will remember her for who she truly was. Someone who loved fearlessly, who laughed hard, and someone who sang her heart away to her musical favorites. We will dearly miss her always but find peace in knowing that she touched the lives of so many and that she was loved by all.
Carrie Sue is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Joe Eads, her children, Joe Thomas Eads, Susan Rena Eads, and Jerry Dewayne Buchanan, grandchildren, Jonathan A. Eads (Lisa), Nichole F. Bennett (Donald Thomas Bennett, Jr.) Casey Jo Eads, Ryan H. Smith (Isaac), Cory M. Eads, Sydney M. Reiser, and Michael J. Dupont II. Great grandchildren, Christopher, Aubrey, Kaleb, Leah, Haylie, Landon, Kamron, McKenzie, Arianna, Junior, Elijah, Chance, Taleaha, Kilynn, TaNess, Tierra, Victor, Vito, Vinny, and Vincenzo, her brother, James Dozier, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Carrie Sue will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Kelley Cemetery in Eldridge. The visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon service time at the funeral home.

Ms. Martha Ann Burleson Henson, age 57 of Guin passed away at her residence. Martha was born on April 7, 1965 in Haleyville, Alabama to James Clyde and Maylene Gilbert Burleson. She was a member of the Gold Mine Church of Christ near Brilliant and attended Brilliant High School. Martha work for many years in the textile industry at Brilliant Manufacturing later known as Tullahoma Industries.

Martha is survived by her sister, Sheila Burleson of Guin, brothers, James Allen Burleson and his wife Cathy of Guin, Greg Burleson and his wife, Sonja of Guin, Dan Burleson of Winfield, Wayne Burleson of Guin and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Angie Burleson.

Funeral services for Martha will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brock Church of Christ Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
