Mr. Billy Ray McCraw, age 85 of the Hubbertville Community passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Bill was born in Marion County, Alabama on September 1, 1939. He was a member of the Berea Church of Christ. Bill retired from Continental Conveyer after 40 years of service. Bill was a hardworking man; some might say he was the hardest working man they had ever met. He worked hard to build a name for himself and for a family that would be proud to be his legacy. Bill was a proud man, a polite way of just saying he was stubborn. He would seldom ask for help but would drop everything he was doing to help anyone in need. Bill would pump gas in the afternoons at B&M grocery, the place where everyone in the Hubbertville community grew to love and appreciate him. He spent countless hours in the fields, planting and tending a garden that was always his pride and joy. He loved everything John Deere, from his tractors to his lawn mower, his gator and countless collectibles. He didn’t go many places, he did love going to church, always going an hour early to open the doors and make sure everything was in order. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior and all his family.  He leaves behind a family that absolutely adored him, a one-of-a-kind man who will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Bobbie Dozier McCraw, daughter, Debbie Phillips (Terry), son, Matthew McCraw (Belinda), grandchildren, Jennifer Davidson (Joel), John Jones (Christy), Ashley Grace (Larry), Mikey McCraw, Katelyn Ginther , Reed Jones, Faith Bray (fiancé, Donald), Kristopher McCraw, Mallory McCraw, Elizabeth McCraw, Aiden McCraw, step grandchildren, Savannah McCraw and Natalie Markham (Noah) and 11 great grandchildren, his fur baby, Tippy and a host off nieces, nephews, church family and other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Ray McCraw.

Funeral services for Bill will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Berea Church of Christ with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.
