Mrs. Kristy Rena Estes Smith, age 45, of Winfield, passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 in the St. Vincent's Medical Center in Birmingham.

Kristy was a 1992 graduate of Hubbertville High School and a life long member of the Davis Chapel Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Chris Smith, daughters, Kendra Smith Angwin (David), Kelsey LeAnn Smith, Emily McLemore (Anthony) all of Winfield, her father, Enoch “Junior” Estes of Winfield, a sister, April Estes Oden (Chris) of Winfield, and a brother, William Danathan Estes (Sunny) of Hamilton, five grandchildren, William Kole and Jaxon Dean Smith, Chaselynn Rena, Rylan Kate and Collier Joseph McLemore and a host of neices, nephews and other relatives and friends. Kristy was preceded in death by her mother, Jewel Dean Tidwell Estes.  

Funeral services for Kristy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from the Tidwell Chapel Church of Christ near Eldridge, with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. Levi Sides will be the officiating minister. The visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Mary Sue Bowen, also known as “Jackie”, age 83 of Winfield, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in the Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Turney Box and Farah Hazel Lee Box, her husband Johnny Bowen, and two brothers, James E. “Kite” Box and Paul Box. Mary Sue is survived by her children, Steve Bowen of Tuscaloosa, Wanda McCormack of Northport, and Ray Bowen of Birmingham, grandchildren, Jessica Marie Maddox of Tuscaloosa, Steven Bowen of Denver, CO, John Derrick Bowen of Florence, Whitney Bowen, Tabatha Bowen, and Addi Bowen, all of Birmingham, great grandchildren, Aidan Maddox and Kamden Allen, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mary Sue will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2019 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Griggs Place Cemetery. James Wyers will be the officiating minister. The visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Barbara Ann Fields, age 81 of Brilliant, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at U.A.B. Medical Center in Birmingham. Barbara worked for over 54 years in the banking industry.  She was an active member and Sunday school teacher at Brilliant Freewill Baptist Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Fields, her parents, Henry B. Husbands and Reitha Flynt Husbands, a sister, Imogene Grace and a brother, Danny Husbands. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Reitha Ann Cabaniss and Diane E. Messer, her grandchildren, Eric Cabaniss, Lance Cabiniss, Amy Harris (Samuel), Andrew Messer (Jill), and Gary Wayne Messer (Caty Lockhart), great grandchildren, Harrison Andrew Messer, Jaycen Don Messer, Brian William Messer, Sarah Harris, Brayden Harris, and Nathan Harris, her brothers, William Brian Husbands and John Michael Husbands, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fields will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Brilliant Memorial Gardens. Brother Greg Webb and Brother Byron Kimbrell will officiate. The visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (service time) on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Leroy Doty, Sr, age 87, of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.

Mr. Doty was born on May 13, 1932 to Omsi Doty and Katie Sudduth Doty in Fayette County, AL, he worked for many years with Henry Hubbert farming and as a cattle hand.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Omis and Katie Doty, his wife, Betty Joyce Rozzell Doty, daughters, Dr. Virginia Doty Moody and Barbara K. Doty, sons, John Stanly Doty and Leroy Doty, Jr., and a granddaughter, Rachel Doty, sisters, Katie Mae Harton and Lottie Doty. He is survived by his children, Nancy Doty, Linda Doty and Dorothy Hubbert all of Winfield, sons, Robert Lee Doty (Faye) and John Wayne Doty (Flora) both of Winfield, a son in law, Walter Moody of San Antonia, TX, sisters in law, Annie Curtis of Winfield, Mattie Coleman of Milwaukee and Earlean Brewster of Springville, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Doty will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 from the Hodges Chapel Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with the burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery.
