Mr. Leburn Roger "Rod" Goodwin, age 70 of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherolyn Ann "Sweetie" Goodwin, his parents, Adell and Rufus Goodwin, a sister, Joyce Franks, and 3 brothers, Ray Goodwin, Rufus Roy "Bunt" Goodwin, and Larry Goodwin. Roger is survived by his children, Phillip (Amy) Goodwin, Patty Goodwin Berryhill, Paula Goodwin Turner, and Pam Braden, a sister, Faye Beasley, grandchildren, Terrance Berryhill, Joshua (Katie) Berryhill, Jessica Turner, Amanda (Scott) Travis, Dillion (Neenah) Braden, Timmy Braden, Eliza Goodwin, and Luke Goodwin, great grandchildren, Hayden Turner, Emiley Travis, Matthew Travis, and Anslee Berryhill, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Kent Nelson and Bro. Mrs. Violet Lee Smith, age 57 of Winfield, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Elijah Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ruby Frost Hill, and 3 bothers, Ray Hill, Billy Hill, and Allen Hill. She is survived by her sons, Michael Sanford (Amanda) of Winfield, Kevin Sanford (Christy) of Sulligent, Bobby Sanford (Cassandra) of Winfield, and Steven Sanford (Debra) of Guin, her husband, Dennis McCaleb of Winfield, a brother Wayne Hill, grandchildren, Gabe Sanford, Johnathon and Andrea Jones, Dylan, Paisley, Tristen, Drake, and Kade Sanford, Dyla & Jacob Mansell, and Lindsey Logan, and a great grandson, Jaxon. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Haden Lynch, a son, Michael Haden, husband, Arlis Haden, a grandson, Jared Haden, and a sister, Ersal Bradley. She is survived by 3 daughters, Diane Haden Henderson (Tom) of Winfield, Phyllis Haden Prescott (Wayne) of Huntsville, and Kay Haden Franks (Alfred) of Winfield, a son, Russell Haden (Kim) of Auburn, a son-in-law, Peter Lynch of California, grandchildren, Andrew Lynch, Audrey L. Pullman (Drew), Kelly Haden, John Michael Haden, Daniel Haden (Terry), Jordan Little (Ryan), Anna DiPlacido (Bruce), Matthew Prescott, Joshua Prescott (Anna Leigh), Nathan Brown, Carley Brown, and Patrick Henderson, 10 great grandchildren, a granddaughter-in-law Janet Haden, dear friend Mona Ratliff, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from the Faith Fellowship Church, with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Bro. Harry Saylor will officiate. Mrs. Seana W. McGraw, age 92 of the Glen Allen and Hubbertville communities, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at her sons residence. Mrs. McGraw was a member of New River Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. McGraw, two brothers, Jesse and Tom Whitfield, and a grandson, Robbie McGraw. Survivors include her sons, Michael W. McGraw of Hoover, John T. McGraw (Jean) of Glen Allen, and Phillip E. McGraw (Molly) of Columbiana, sisters, Mary Johnson of Hattiesburg, MS, and Nellie Ulmer of Demopolis, grandchildren, John McGraw Jr,. Janie McGraw, and Jenna Chae, great granddaughter Kirsten McGraw, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov., 11, 2016 from the New River Baptist Church with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Marlin Mayfield will officiate. The visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Friday at the Church.
