Mrs. Edna Mae Turner Whitehead age 81, of Winfield, passed away on Sunday evening, September 17, 2017 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
She was a remarkable woman with extraordinary determination and strength. She attended Eastside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Whitehead is predeceased by her daughters Lela Whitehead, Vanessa Whitehead and son Dennis Whitehead. Her parents, Herman and Edna Hall Turner, 2 brothers, Eugene Turner and Willie Turner of Tuscaloosa.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 67 years, IJ Whitehead; her children, Patricia Trull (Ken) Charleston, SC, Wanda Goudeau (Bill) Byron, Georgia; 5 grand-children, William Trull (Katie) Charleston, SC, Meredith Green ( Chad) Tuscaloosa, Crystal Shirey (Oliver) Birmingham, Taylor Whitehead, Sumiton and Jayson Whitehead, Guin; 10 great-grandchildren, Kaley Trull, Elayna McElroy, Carmen Trull, Ethan Green, Abby Green, Noah Green, Isabella Green, Lilah Green, Noah Shirey, and Charlie Shirey; 2 sisters, Catherine Haynes, Gulf Shores and Judy Chance, Bay Minette.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday in the chapel of Bowen Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm. Billy Goudeau, son-in-law of Mrs. Whitehead will officiate.
Mrs. Whitehead will be laid to rest at West Alabama Memorial Gardens in Gu-Win. Ethan Green, Noah Green, Taylor Whitehead, Jayson Whitehead, James Bates, and Chad Green will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Cynthia Renae "Cindy" Wilson, age 45 0f Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler Wilson and step-mother, Brenda McCluskey Wilson. Cindy was survived by her husband, James Woods of Hamilton, father, Jimmy L. Wilson of Wetumpka, mother, Sandra Wilson of Guin, daughter, Breana Wilson of Hamilton, grandsons, Mason, Daxton and Abel, sisters, Julia Seal and Janet Chartier, and a host nieces, nephews and other relativesand friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 15th at 1:00 p.m. from the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jasper off of Fall City Road. Mrs. Nancy J. Barnes, age 72 of Winfield, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Lambert Gumprecht and Dorothy Marshall Gumprecht Redwood, and her step father, Harry R. Redwood. Mrs. Barnes is survived by two Children, Stephanie House (Emerson) of Farmington, Utah, and Chris Barnes of Winfield, grandchildren, Jacob Wallace Barnes and Macie Bell Barnes, sisters, Mary Culwell of Silver Hill, AL, Donna Lowry (Kenny) of Winfield, and Carol Palmertree (Cary) of Tupelo, MS, her step mother, Blanche Gumprecht of Tuscaloosa, step brothers, Chuck and Andy Redwood of Tupelo, MS, ex-husband, Eugene Barnes of Winfield, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Branch President Steve Ennis, Amedisys Hospice Chaplain Richard Alexander and Mark Wilson will officiate.
The visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) on Friday at the funeral home.
Joe Bowling, David Sizemore, Tony Brewer, Rob Holliday, Rick Itter, and David Box will serve as active pallbearers, with the Alabama State Troopers and employees of Amedisys Hospice serving as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Jewel Dean Harbin Miles, age 87, of Winfield, passed away in the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility in Guin, Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Mrs. Miles was a member of the Union Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She worked for over 20 years in the cafeteria for the Winfield City School system. Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Harbin and Annie Aldridge Harbin, her husband, Raymond Isaac Miles, 2 grandchildren, Mark Miles and Christy Atkinson, a sister Mildred Davis Black, a brother Kenneth Harbin, and one infant brother.
Mrs. Miles is survived by her 4 children, sons, Randal (Katrina) Miles of Winfield, Phillip (Martha) Miles of McCalla, Ben (Myra) Miles of Winfield and her daughter, Regina (Ronnie) Jenkins of Winfield, her grandchildren, Emily Miles Yake of Atlanta, GA, Brad Miles of McCalla, Shawn Miles of Winfield, Melaina Miles of Winfield, Bailey Miles of Winfield and Todd Miles of Jasper and Mike Jenkins of Winfield, 9 great grandchildren, Finley, Abby & Aidan Yake, Raven & Caitlyn Miles, Brettley Miles, Willa Simmons, Lauren Miles Gann, Madison Miles, and Luke and Kent Jenkins, a brother, Bill (Audra) Harbin of Winfield.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel. Brother Phillip Miles will officiate the service, with burial to follow in the Griggs Place Cemetery.
