Mr. Brian Michael Smith, age 52 of Bear Creek formerly of Brilliant, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at his residence. Brian was born on February 20, 1968 in Haleyville, AL to Jerry and Jewel Smith. He was employed with Stone Canyon Home in Brilliant, AL and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Brian is survived by his children, Colby Smith (Anna) and Whitney Edwards (Jerry Dale), grandchildren, Connar and Memphis Edwards, sister, Kimberly Bowman (John), brothers, Gaylon (Christy), Brett (Donna) and Mitchell Smith, nieces and nephews, Scotty Bray, Cherie Kelley, Dakota Smith, Jonathan Smith, Josh Johnson, Bretta Smith, Colby Pyle, Kimberly Liverett, Bobby Smith, Jake Smith, Chrissy Hill and Traci Zubritsky and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Smith and Jewel Dean Salter Smith, grandparents, John and Ola Smith, and a nephew, William Bray.

Funeral service for Brian will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Gregory Lee Bowling, age 58 of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at his residence. Greg was born on October 16, 1961 in Chicago, IL to John C. and Geneva Bowling. He grew up in Winfield, AL and attended Brilliant High School, after high school he join the United States Army and married his high school sweetheart, Billiejo. Greg was employed with Ox Bodies in Fayette, AL until his retirement in 2002.

Greg is survived by his wife of 35 years, Billiejo Viernum Bowling, his siblings, Steve Bowling (Debbie), Fronda Bowling Vickery, Kelly Fenoff (Bob), Dallas Bowling (Stephanie), Joe Bowling (Kristen), Nathan Bowling (Brandy) Sheryl Bowling and a sister in law, Bobbie Sides, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. Bowling and Geneva Patton Bowling and a sister, Mickey Wrapp.

Funeral service for Greg will be held on Friday at 6:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Bobby Barnes, Jr. will be the officiating minister. Trent Allen Canterberry, age 45 of Winfield, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Trent was born on October 22, 1974 to Ed and Joan Canterberry. He was a 1993 graduate of Brilliant High School and business owner.

Trent is survived by his parents, Edward “Ed” Canterberry and Joan Johnson Canterberry of Winfield, his nephews, Braxton and Braden Canterberry, grandmother, Frances Johnson, aunt, Earline Champion, uncles, Joe Canterberry (Charwaynne), Jimmy Johnson (Teresa) and Pete Johnson (Susan), special cousins, Adam Duckworth (Tish) and Colby Duckworth (Allison) and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brent Canterberry and his grandparents, T.E. and Jimmie Canterberry and Claude Johnson.

The funeral service for Trent will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 6, 2020 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. Jeremy Harris and Bobby Barnes, Jr. will be the officiating ministers. The visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Floyd Cecil McNutt, age 73 of Winfield, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.  Mr. McNutt was born on July 11, 1946 in Haleyville, AL to Cecil and Mary Ellen McNutt.  Mr. McNutt was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church and a 1964 Winfield City High School graduate.  Floyd served two terms on the Winfield City Board of Education and was a member of the Jaycees.  He retired from the Alabama Army National Guard, and from N.T.N. Bower in Hamilton with 35 years service.

The rock of Floyd’s life was his relationship with Christ. He fiercely loved his family and was especially proud of his two grandsons. Since T-ball days, Floyd and his son Grant have enjoyed numerous days playing or watching sporting events, an interest they shared. Floyd was an avid outdoorsman enjoying golfing and fishing. Floyd’s battles with brain tumors ended after 11 years of surgeries and radiation. He fought with courage, strength and determination, receiving his ultimate healing in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mr. McNutt is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Jaretta Goolsby McNutt of Winfield, his son, Grant McNutt (Leslie) of Muscle Shoals, grandsons, Xan and Lincoln McNutt, a sister-in-law, Sara Goolsby Franks (Richard) of Hamilton, and a host of other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Grey McNutt and Mary Ellen Frazier McNutt May, stepfather, Beverly D. May and a sister, Peggy Benton.

The funeral service for Mr. McNutt will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 2:00 from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery.
