Mr. Barney Pugh, age 69 of Guin, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at his residence. Barney was born on March 25, 1951 to Hubert Cecil “Bill” and Gracie Lee York Pugh. He was a member of The Shepherds Fields Church, a 1969 graduate of Marion County High School. Mr. Pugh served in the United States National Guard Army for 23 years as Ssgt-E6. He retired from The Hyster Co. in Sulligent after 33 years of service.

Barney is survived by his children, Kandy Carlton (Perry) of Hamilton and Chris Pugh (Tiffany) of Winfield, grandchildren, Ashton Inman, Nicklas Smith, Carter Pugh and Andrew Pugh, step grandchildren, Kelsi Carlton and Hunter Carlton and a step great granddaughter, Bryleigh Carlton, a sister, Carolyn Zoglmann (Ray) of Guin and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, military family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Pugh will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens with Military Honors presented at the graveside. The visitation will be on Sunday, September 6, 2020 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time). Bowen Funeral Home serving the Pugh family.

Mr. William Parris better known as Bill, age 52 of Glen Allen, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at his residence. Bill is survived by his daughters, Crystal Parris of Winfield, Kayla Parris of Winfield, Denise Gillion of MS, and Cassandra Sanford of Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly Parris, and his parents, Billy Ray Parris and Katherine Joyce Parris. A memorial service for Mr. Parris will be announced at a later date. Mr. Wallace Richard Hubbert, age 79 of Hubbertville passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at his residence. Wallace was born in Fayette County, on July 9, 1941 to Clyde and Icie Hubbert. He was a member of the Hubbertville Church of Christ and a 1959 graduate of Hubbertville High School. Wallace was owner/operator of Hubbert’s Grocery in Hubbertville for 42 years and a strong supporter of Hubbertville School system.

Wallace is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Reese Hubbert, sons, Brian Richard Hubbert and Wallace Benton “Benny” Hubbert of Hubbertville, grandchildren, Melanie Hubbert Mills, Caitlyn Brooke Hubbert Elliott, Danna Hubbert Gilbert and Destiny Hubbert, great grandchildren, Britton, Bailee, Cohen, Alyssa, Ryker, Lilah Brooke, Henry Gray and Phoebe, brother, Frank Hubbert (Joyce) of Hubbertville and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Franklin Hubbert and  Niocle McAruthur Hubbert and a brother, George Hubbert.

Funeral services for Wallace will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Hubbertville Church of Christ Cemetery. Alex Addison Chaffin age 34, of Hubbertville passed away Saturday morning, August 22, 2020 in the UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Alex was a fun loving, fried chicken eating, Pepsi drinking young man, he had a heart of gold that touched many lives with his time here on earth. Alex was born in Winfield, AL to David and Stachie Tidwell Chaffin on August 6, 1986. He was a member of Berea Church of Christ and a 2004 graduate of Hubbertville High School. Alex loved his family, his school, his community, country music, and the WWE. Every Friday night during football season you could find Alex on the sideline cheering on the Hubbertville Lions; on Saturdays he would be cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alex was a true sports fan and was proud to let it show. He was always a ray of sunshine and a blessing to everyone that knew him.

He is survived by his parents, David and Stachie Chaffin of Hubbertville, brothers, Josh Chaffin (Haleigh) of Parrish and Eric Chaffin (Carly) of Hubbertville, aunt, Stephanie Corkren (Al) of Brilliant, uncles, Jimmy Chaffin (Karen) and Jeff Tidwell (Amanda Tranum) both of Hubbertville, nieces, Palyn and Parker Chaffin and nephews, Lance and AJ Chaffin of Parrish, His family and friends at Windows, and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends. Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joel and Louise Chaffin, Jack and Bobbie Nell Tidwell and uncle, Mike Chaffin.
