Skylar Casey Christian better known as Casey, age 39 of Winfield passed away at his residence. Casey was born on April 9, 1981 in Winfield, Alabama to J. C. & Kathy Christian. He was a 1999 graduate of Winfield City High School and attended Bevill State in Fayette. Casey was a big-hearted man that enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved being outdoors, fishing and watching Notre Dame football.
Casey was preceded in death by his grandparents, J. C., Sr. & Hazel Christian and Mary Lou Owens, aunt, Karen Mayfield and two cousins, Spring Mayfield, and Tonya Akers. He is survived by his parents, J. C. Jr. & Kathy Christian, his sister, Rachel (Sammy) Smith, a brother, Brandon Robertson, a niece, Brylee Smith and a nephew, Cooper Smith, his fur buddies Riddick & Keizer, and a host of other close relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Casey will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow. The visitation will be held on Friday, April 2nd from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. (service time) at the funeral home. Tom Nix and Don May will officiate. Jayson Merchant, Josh Reese, Chris Cummings, Barry Belk, Greg Scott, Chris Seagraves, Sammy Smith and Chris Hyatt, will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Reggie Kidd, Chris Wyers, James Spann, Cameron Mayfield, Derek Mayfield, Cam Blanchard and Garrett Arnold.

Emma Rose Wilson 7-year-old daughter of Patrick and LaWanda Wilson of Guin, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 in Children’s Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham. A memorial service for Emma will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. (service time). Mrs. Rosemary Bostick Holt, age 73 of Brilliant passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Mrs. Holt was born on July 2, 1947 to Herald and Vivon Bostick in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a member of the Goldmine Church of Christ and a 1965 graduate of Brilliant High School. Rosemary received her degree as an LPN and worked in the medical field around Marion and Lamar Counties for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Adron “Buddy” Holt and her son, Jonathan Paul (Sheree) Holt her grandchildren, Chance (Haleigh) Holt and Pace Holt, great grandchildren, Lexton and Jensyn Holt, her sister, Martha Burleson (Billy Wayne), and a brother, Dwight Bostick (Fran), and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Allen Holt, and her parents, Herald Dwight Bostick and Vivon Joyce Threadgill Bostick.
Funeral services for Mrs. Holt will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. form the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brilliant Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Betty Joyce Ballew, age 81 of Winfield, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. Joyce was born in Beaverton, AL on March 11, 1940 to Xavier Rudolph Morrow and Mary Kate Holcomb Morrow. She was a 1958 graduate of Ensley High School, in that same year, she married the love of her life, Dr. Charles Ballew. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Janna Denean Ballew, and an infant daughter. She is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Dr. Charles Ballew, her sons, Michael Charles “Mike” (Deborah) Ballew of Vance and Darryl K. (Sonya) Ballew of Fayette, her grandchildren, Brett (Kristina) Ballew, Brady (Amanda) Ballew, Bryan (Whitney) Ballew, Breean (Austin) McSpadden, Heather (James) Cole, Josh (Kaitlyn) Ballew, Sarah Grace (Philip) Larsen, and Mary Kate Ballew, great grandchildren, Jaxon, Emily, Hadley, Isaiah, Baylor, Darcy, Eva, and Aiden Ballew, Makiyah and Victoria McSpadden, Conner and Hannah Cole, and Carter, Ella Grace and Elyse Larsen, a brother, Robert “Bobby” Morrow (Deborah) of Center, AL, and a host of other relatives, her church family and many friends. Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from the Winfield First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery near Vernon, AL. Dr. Roger White, Brother Mark Gallups, and Dr. Paul Murphy will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 29th, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Winfield First Baptist Church, the body will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. (service time).
