Mrs. Mildred Anita Greene, age 77, of Winfield passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. Mrs. Greene was born in Leeds, Alabama on June 18, 1946 to Reverend George Emmitt and Mary Evelyn Thompson Smith. She was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church and attended school in Trion, GA where she graduated in 1964. She later earned a degree in Real Estate and worked as a realtor and substitute teacher for Winfield City School system for many years before opening her own printing business. She was a faithful member of the church and served for more than 25 years as a Sunday School teacher, teaching the 5th grade class. She was a charter member of the Modern Culture Club and very involved in her community. In her spare time Millie enjoyed stained glass, painting, pottery making, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Greene is survived by her husband of more than 57 years, Harold Greene, daughters, Beth Roberts (Darren) and Kayren Burt (Daryl), grandchildren, Cody Roberts (Becky), Cooper Burt, and Emily Burt, great-granddaughter, Lily Roberts, sister-in-law, Linda Greene Tripp, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Bob Smith, and brother-in-law Michael Greene.

Funeral services for Mrs. Greene will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

The family of Mrs. Greene would like to express a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and the staff of Hospice of Northwest Alabama for the care that was given to Millie and her family through this time of need. On December 2, 2023 Dimple Aldridge, age 87, passed away at the Northwest Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dimple dedicated many years of her life employed with Walmart before retiring. Following her retirement, she found joy in serving as a recreation supervisor for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, and creating countless wonderful memories with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Aldridge and Janet Weeks (Steve), as well as her grandchildren, David Rhudy (Chandra), Danny Rhudy, Lee Donaldson (Melissa), Amy Weeks, and Jamie Odell (Jason). Dimple was blessed with many great-grandchildren which she adored: Madeline Rhudy, Taylor Downum (D. B.) and their two children Dusty and Dyxon; Noah, Karmah, and Sophie Rhudy, Braxton Donaldson, Victoria Parrish, and Alexandria Driver (Tyler). Her brother Joe Isbell also survives her.

Dimple was preceded in death by her lifelong love, Leon Aldridge, her parents, Fannie Isbell and James Isbell, her brother, Tommy Isbell, and her great-grandson Austyn Weeks.

Funeral services for Mrs. Aldridge will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Webb Cemetery Near Guin. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barbara Jean Wilkinson, age 83, of Brilliant passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at her residence. Mrs. Wilkinson was born in the Sunny Home area on August 31, 1940 to Orbie Dell and Velma Barton Burleson. She was a member of the Brilliant Church of Christ and a 1957 graduate of Brilliant High School. Barbara spent much of her life as a seamstress for Bama Textile of Haleyville and A-1 Textile of Brilliant before her retirement after more than 30 years of service. In her spare time Barbara enjoyed reading her Bible, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by her sons, Dewayne Wilkinson, Shane Wilkinson, and Zack Clark (Billie), grandchildren, Haley and Aly Wilkinson, Santana, Maci, and Hunter Clark, and Mariah Madison (Jon), great-great grandchildren, Logan, and Sadie Dennis, sister, Betty Sartin and Bonnie Colburn (James), brother, Dell Burleson (Beverly), special daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wilkinson, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by sons, Ricky and Chucky Wilkinson, grandson, CJ Wilkinson, great grandson, Brantlee and Nolan Dennis, sister, Brenda Townsend, and brothers, Bobby and Billy Burleson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilkinson will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Brock Church of Christ with burial following in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the church.

Ota Vee Loden, age 94, formerly of Marion County, AL, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, at the Arbor Springs Health and Rehab Center in Opelika, AL. Mrs. Loden was born in Hackleburg, AL on October 6, 1929 to Burle and Martha Burleson Mann.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Loden, and her son Don Loden. 

She is survived by a daughter Karen (Bob Roper) of Springville, AL; a son Kevin (Jo Ann) of Opelika, AL; a daughter-in-law, Martha Loden of Durham, NC; three grandchildren, Julie Loden of Weedowee, AL; Donnie Loden (Lauren) and their two children — Parks and Gray — all of Atlanta, GA; and Cathy (Preston) and their son, Henry, of Durham, NC.

A graveside service for Mrs. Loden will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Mt. Home Church of Christ Cemetery near Bear Creek.
