Rev. Bobby Charles Terrell, age 76, of Guin, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was born on June 24, 1949, in Winfield, Alabama, to Lemon Eugene Terrell and Catherine Flemings Terrell. Bobby was a graduate of Guin Colored School and was a faithful member of Hodges Chapel Baptist Church and later Moriah Baptist Church. He was also a member of Fayette Masonic Lodge #65. Mr. Terrell was employed for many years at Winfield Cotton Mill until its closing. He later worked at Gateway Homes and Windows Unlimited Mental Health Facility, where he remained until his retirement. Following retirement, Bobby answered the call to ministry and became the minister of Moriah Baptist Church. In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed watching football, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He was well known for passing out gold dollars and for giving nicknames to those he loved.

Rev. Terrell is survived by his daughters, Kendra Terrell, Cheryl Terrell, Hope Terrell, and Ruby Mayho; grandchildren, Boston, Easton, Loyalty, and Royalty Sullivan, and Destiny Carr; siblings, Rebecca Terrell, John L. Flemings, Mary Chaney Wilson, Noel Chaney Driver, Rev. Lemon Eugene Terrell Jr., Teresa Marshall, Eugene and Bessie Terrell, Eunice and Norris Crump, and Gretel Ruff; and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and other family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Terrell, and brothers, Lewis Chaney and J.R. Arnold.

Funeral services for Rev. Terrell will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Hodges Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.

Miss Crystal Diana Whatley, 37, of Northport, Alabama, passed away on December 24, 2025 at Northport Medical Center.

She was born on July 19, 1988, in Northport, Alabama to Randall and Lorie Martin Whatley. Crystal graduated from Northside High School, Class of 2007. In July of 2016 her son, Alex was born. She always said he was her little miracle. Her passion was being a caregiver. Crystal never met a stranger; she loved everyone with all of her heart. She will be greatly missed by all of us.

She is survived by her son, Alex Jones, grandmother; Barbara Dozier, sister; Michelle (Todd) Chism, nephew and nieces, Hunter and Bailey Bigham, Lily, Leona, Loretta and Elsie Chism. brother, Randy (Holly) Whatley, great uncles, Sonny (Dora) Stringer and Edwin (Connie) Stringer, uncle; David (Shana) Dozier, aunt, April Tidwell, her best friend, Ashley (Danny) Martin, and host of cousins and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall Whatley and Lorie Martin Whatley, grandparents, Oliver and Katherine Whatley and grandfather, James Dozier.

Funeral services for Crystal will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Hubbertville Church of Christ Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. util 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home. Brother Matt Weems will be the officiating minister.

Mr. Bobby Dooley, age 78, of Brilliant, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025. Funeral services for Mr. Dooley will be held on Saturday, December 27th at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Willis Eugene Barnes, better known as Gene, age 82, of Winfield, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born on May 2, 1943, to Jacob Leroy and Ora Mae McKay Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a faithful member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church and a 1961 graduate of Brilliant High School. He proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force, followed by 20 years of service in the166th Engineer Company of the Alabama Army National Guard.

Mr. Barnes was an active and dedicated member of Brilliant Masonic Lodge #601, where he enjoyed helping with fundraisers and participating in lodge activities. He was employed by 3M Manufacturing for 35 years before retiring. In his earlier years, he found great joy in growing vegetable gardens and working in the hayfield when he was not on the job. In later years, he enjoyed helping others, doing outdoor projects and attending his grandchildren’s activities, which brought him much happiness.

He is survived by his son, Chris Barnes (Kaleena); daughter, Stephanie House (Emerson); grandchildren, Jacob Barnes and Macie Barnes; step granddaughter, Madalyn Moore; brother, Wiley Barnes (Maxine); sister-in-law, Shelby Barnes; brother-in-law, Gary Rose; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Nancy Barnes; his parents, Leroy and Ora Mae Barnes; brothers, James, Jessie, Sam, Floyd, and Boyd Barnes; and sisters, Lounell Cagle, Ruth Tittle, Dorothy Elliott, Joyce Ann Rose, Judy Gulley, Allean Guin, Nelda Sue Barnes, and Betty Jo Willett.

Funeral services for Mr. Barnes will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Taylor Springs Cemetery in Lamar County. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
