Joey Michael Linley, age 45, of Brilliant, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at his residence. Joey was born on March 21, 1980, in Amory, Mississippi, to John Michael Linley and Sandra Kay Butler Linley. A lifelong resident of Brilliant, Joey was well known throughout his community for his friendly nature, quick wit, and love of conversation. He never met a stranger and always had a joke or story to share with anyone he met. Joey worked as a coal miner for a time before becoming a heavy machine operator. He was employed with Eutaw Construction in Mississippi for five years, and for the past year he worked with Donald Bond Construction in Missouri until his passing. In his spare time, Joey enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. He was also a dedicated member of the Brilliant Fire Department.
Joey is survived by his wife, Melissa Morris Linley; his son, Tyler Linley; his pawpaw, Bill Linley; his sisters, Airiel Hayward and Ginger Bittner (Andrew); his aunts, Betty Holcomb and Angie Bland (Curt); his uncles, Jimmy Butler and Pete Butler; and a host of other family members and friends.
Joey was preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Linley; his mother, Kay Linley; his granny, Lucille Linley; and his aunt, Darlene Pugh.
Funeral services for Joey will be held on Saturday, December 20th, at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Theresa Carrie Pate, age 74, of Winfield, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Haleyville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Facility. Theresa was born on November 22, 1951, in Rockford, Illinois, to Lloyd and Betty Spitson. She was raised in Rockford and was a graduate of a local high school. Theresa was employed with Associated Products for more than 20 years prior to her retirement. She took pride in her work and was known as a dedicated and hardworking employee. Theresa greatly enjoyed spending her spare time with her grandchildren.
Theresa is survived by her husband, Micheal Pate; sons, Paul Joseph Todora (Stephanie) and Michael Vincent Todora; grandchildren, Tanner Todora, Dylan Eckols, Ashton Todora, Destinee Eckols Hill (Mikey), and Madison Massey; great-grandchildren, Raelynn Jo Todora and Ellie May Hill; siblings, Rick Spitson (Debbie), Cathy Lawrence, and Darcy Spitson (Jackie); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Denise Todora; her parents, Lloyd and Betty Spitson; her brother, Lloyd Spitson Jr.; and sister, Sheila Peaslee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pate will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Hillcrest Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Benny Gene “Bud” Farris, age98, of Eldridge, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025. A private Family graveside service was held the same day at the Kelly Cemetery. Mrs. Freddie Ward Hull, age 77, of Winfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Facility. Mrs. Hull was born on January 6, 1948, to Uless and Bertha Dobbs Ward. She grew up in the Wayside community and attended Wayside School before graduating from Winfield High School in 1965. Following high school, Freddie pursued her calling in healthcare and attended Northwest Alabama State Technical Institute, where she earned her nursing degree in 1968. Over the course of her 46-year career, she faithfully served in several area medical facilities, including Winfield Hospital and Winfield Internal Medicine, from which she retired in 2014. She deeply loved her patients and was devoted to providing compassionate care to all she served. Freddie was a wonderful Christian mother who treasured her family. Her kitchen was always open to family and friends, and her home was a place of warmth, welcome, and love.
Mrs. Hull is survived by her children, Craig Hull (Melanie) of Winfield, Kim Cummins (Glenn) of Lubbock, TX, and Lora Vaughan (Stephen) of Winfield; her grandchildren, Erin, Kelsey, Jenna, Karly, Jonathan, Kinley, Zoe, Max, and Ella; and her great-grandchildren, Sloan, Natalie, Parker, and Adeline. She is also survived by Mary Trimm, mother of Erin, Jenna, and Jonathan; her sisters, Mary Chappell (Seaborn) of Priceville, AL and Frances Burns of Prairieville, LA; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Tison (Ronald) of Rockford, AL and Sandy Ward of Winfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Mrs. Hull was preceded in death by her husband, John Hull; her parents; her brothers, Benjamin, Dewey, and Gary Ward; her sister, Dot Agee; her sister-in-law, Rosa Ward; and brother-in-law, Perry Burns.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hull will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Siloam Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon service time at the funeral home.
