Mr. Ralph Elwood Wirth, age 82 of Brilliant, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at his residence. Ralph was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Virginia Storey Wirth, and two sons, Joseph and David Wirth. He is survived by his wife, Bettye McAdams Wirth, a daughter, Keely Kiefer (Brian) of Rocklin, CA, sons, Larry Wirth of Santa Rosa, CA, and Tom Wirth (Karen) of Napa, CA, grandchildren, Alanna Kiefer, Raquel Wirth, and Joseph Kiefer, a sister in law, Peggy Bergland and a brother in law, John McAdams. A memorial service for Mr. Wirth will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Bro. Paul Gray will be the officiating minister. Mr. Tony Carlton Harkness, age 58, of Winfield, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield. Tony is a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Boss Harkness and Annie L. Harkness Spann. Mr. Harkness is survived by his wife, Kanda Harkness, sons, Will Harkness (Morgan) of Oakman, Chris Harkness (Katye) of Clovis, MN, Josh Harkness of Carbon Hill, grandchildren, Henry Sawyer Harkness and Kenzlee Harkness, brothers, Jerry Harkness (Debbie) of Montgomery, Barry Harkness (Pam) of Louisville, KY and Larry Harkness (Susan) of Winfield and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Tony will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. (service time). Mrs. Lori Gene McClelland Miles, age 57, of Vestavia Hills, formerly of Columbus, MS, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, December 29, 2017 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Lori was born on July 19, 1960 to Mr. & Mrs. Paul & Marie McClelland in Brooklyn, NY. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Danielle Cook and grandson, Skylar Wallace. She is survived by her husband, Terry Miles of almost 16 years, daughter, Jessie Miles, grandchildren, Taylor Wallace, Tristen Wallace and Rigsby Cook, sister, Karen Perkins (Charlie) of Columbus, MS, brothers, Paul D. McClelland (Susan Griffin) of Leeds, AL, Glenn E. McClelland (Susan) of Columbus, MS, her mother in law, Dot Miles of Winfield and a host of other relatives and friends. Lori Gene was loved by many for her strength and determination, her active mind, sharp wit and her kind heart. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Faith Fellowship Church in Winfield, AL. Mr. David Christopher Cranford, age 59, of Hamilton passed away, Friday December 29, 2017 in the Marion Regional Healthcare Center in Hamilton. David is a member of the New Hope Church of Christ in Guin and was employed as a lineman for West Alabama TV Cable for 25 years. Mr. Cranford is preceded in death by his parents, Uell Vernon and Mary Irene Mitchell Cranford. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ronda Cranford of Guin, daughter, Shauna Silas (Dustin) of Hubbertville, son, Shane Goodwin of Sulligent, grandsons, Carson Silas, Brodie Silas, Collin and Colby Goodwin, sister, Linda Holder (Jimmy) and brothers, Doug Cranford (Janet) of Hamilton, MS and Don Cranford (Pat) of Hamilton, AL and other relatives and friends.
