Danny Lou Spann, 93, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 in Fayette, Alabama. Danny Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle Belle Spann and William Roston Spann; sisters Polly Smith, Sarah Bull, Alice Robertson, and Reba Wheeler; and brother Glen Spann. She is survived by her three daughters, Vickie Cunningham of Kalispell, Montana, Brenda (Michael) Fernety of Salem, Oregon, and Pamela (Keith) Foster of Paris, Kentucky; brothers, Ben Spann and Bill Spann; sisters Bonnie (Dan) Campbell, and Judy (Don) May; brothers-in-law, Jim Smith, Bob Wheeler, and Charles Robertson; two beloved grandchildren, Wesley (Cary) Hazel of Huntington Beach, California, and Krista (Tony) Robatzek of West Glacier, Montana; two great-grandchildren, Kyla Hazel and Jasper Robatzek; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Danny Lou was born in the family home outside of Winfield, on August 11, 1931. She graduated from Winfield High School, and later from nursing school in San Angelo, Texas. After working for many years as a nurse, she retired and moved back home to Winfield, where she enjoyed living in her “cabin,” working in her yard, quilting, and cooking. She enjoyed making gift packages of cookies and breads at Christmastime and delivering them to friends. Danny Lou knitted caps for cancer patients, mailing some off to hospitals and non-profit organizations on a regular basis and delivering others locally. She also enjoyed her family coming to visit, shopping, and eating lunch at Aroma’s.

After suffering a stroke in 2019, she resided at Morningview Estates Assisted Living in Fayette, Alabama. She recently moved to Fayette Long Term Care. Her family would like to thank the staff, volunteers, and Hospice at both facilities.

At her request, there will be no memorial service. She will be laid to rest in the Goodwater Cemetery.

Mr. Jeffrey Jerome Williams, age 62, of Winfield, Alabama, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Diversicare Nursing Facility in Winfield. Jeffrey was born November 15, 1962 in Melrose Park, Illinois to Erskine and Faith Williams.

Jeffrey is survived by his children, Morgan Hall (James) of Maryland and Amanda Harper (Dakota) of Texas, his grandchildren, Ivan Hall of Maryland, Jacob Harper of Texas, Login and Abigail Lucas of Maryland, and Jay Sullivan of Pennsylvania, his longtime companion, Deborah Cummings of Winfield, his mother, Faith Williams of Brilliant, his sister, Brenda Hahn (Jeff) of Brilliant and a host of other extended family members.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Erskine Williams.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon service time at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Maddox will serve as officiating minister.

Mrs. Michelle Lynn Swindle Hollingsworth, age 51, of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Michelle was born on August 11, 1973, in Jasper, Alabama to Bill and Peggy Benton Swindle. She was a 1993 graduate of Marion County High School. Michelle dedicated over 30 years of service as a stock team leader with Walmart of Winfield. A devoted member of Encounter Church of Guin, Michelle lived a life of faith and kindness. She found joy in simple moments like sitting on the porch in the afternoons with her husband, listening to music, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Jason Hollingsworth, her children, Ethan Hollingsworth (Lauren) of Guin, Kylee Wilson (Timothy), and Autumn Hollingsworth both of Winfield, her grandchildren, Evalee and Dalt Hollingsworth, and Issak Wilson, her parents, Bill and Peggy Swindle, her sister, Kerry Grissom (Mark) of Alabaster, her brothers, Doug Swindle of Guin and Allen Swindle (Rose) of Ohio, mother-in-law, Jackie Hollingsworth, sister-in-law, Sandi Webb, brother-in-law, Jon Hollingsworth (Leah), nieces and nephews, Ashley Grissom-White, Nathan Grissom, Bailey, Riley, and Brianna Swindle, Kelsey Webb, Carter, Cadee Beth, and Ceth Hollingsworth, and a host of other family members and friends.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Dale Hollingsworth, and grandparents, Rhuelna Swindle, and John Raymond and Ilene Benton.

Funeral services for Michelle will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the New River Church of Christ Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Martha Forrester Warren, age 87 of Fayette, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 in the DCH Regional Hospital in Tuscaloosa. Mrs. Warren was born on January 20, 1938 in Winston County, Mississippi, to King Jefferson and Lillie Dee Reed Ham. She dedicated much of her life to hard work and caring for others. She was employed with Clifford Industries from 1965 until her retirement when her vision no longer allowed her to work outside the home. In her younger years Martha found joy in sewing, camping with her family, and going to the drive-in movies, and most of all spending time with her children. She had a deep love for kids and a heart that was always open. She helped many families and children just like her own. She was a mama to many, far beyond her own family. Even after losing her sight Martha remained full of life. She spent her later years crocheting, listening to her favorite tv shows, and talking on the phone. 

Mrs. Warren is survived by her children, Ricky Forrester of Winfield, Rhonda Warren of Fayette, Rita Haney of Fayette, Nita Tucker of Arkansas, Karen Selman (Dale) of Fayette, Steve Forrester (Cindy) of Winfield and James Forrester (Lisa) of Mississippi, stepson, Steve Warren (Rose) of Winfield, 30 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 21 great great-grandchildren and a brother, William Ham of Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Chester Warren, her parents, grandchildren, Shellie Forrester, Kimberly Tucker, Wesley Warren, Georgia Kirkpatrick, great grandson, Jessie Fields, great-great grandsons, Braxton Riley and Rylan Haywood, brothers, John, C.L., L.D., sisters, Kattie, Mary, and Maurice Ham, stepchildren, Faye Colburn, Robert, Lester, Ester and Wayne Warren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Warren will be held on Wednesday, July 30th at 1 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the New Liberty Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
