Mr. Gary Wayne Dodd, age 78 of Lynn, passed away on May 23, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Dodd is survived by his wife of 30 years Mrs. Diane Dodd, his children, Alisa Tidwell, Keshia Franks (Anthony), Kimberly Hogan (George), Danielle Dodd (Austin Herod), Brittany Cheatham (James Pratt), Angie Roberts, and Sandy Scott, 17 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, his brothers, Charles Dodd and Jerome Dodd, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ella Wallace Dodd, his only son, Tony Dodd, several brothers, one infant sister, and one infant granddaughter, Oaklynn Kay Elizabeth Pratt. The family would like to recognize a special niece, Leigh Ann Dodd for all her help during this trying time, and Gentiva Hospice for their wonderful care for all these years.

Funeral services for Mr. Dodd will be held on Monday, May 25th at 2:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in the Oak Grove cemetery near Highway 278. The visitation will be held on Sunday, May 24th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Anthony “Tony” Whitehead, age 65, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Winfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Tony was born in Winfield, Alabama on December 2, 1960, to James Harold and Ellon Roberts Whitehead. He was a 1979 graduate of Winfield High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of North Alabama. Tony worked with several financial institutions in the Tuscaloosa area throughout his career before joining Alabama Credit Union, where he served for more than 10 years and remained employed at the time of his passing.

Tony is survived by his mother, Ellon Whitehead; his brother Tracy Whitehead (Cassi); his sister, Cynthia May; his nephews, Dylan and Matthew Whitehead; his special work family, Lisa Falls, Allison Smith, Cherish Spencer, Carson Montgomery, Kelly Lightsey, Lara Chandler, Kaitlyn Brummett, and Blake, Heather, and Olivia Eatman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, James Harold Whitehead; and his grandparents, Henry and Fannie Roberts and Garfield and Ava Jo Whitehead.

Funeral services for Tony will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Phillip Harry Stricklin, age 64, of Brilliant passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at North Mississippi Health Services South Marion Medical Center. Mr. Stricklin was born in Winfield, Alabama on November 14, 1961, to Harry Ray and Shirley Pugh Stricklin. He was a graduate of Winfield High School. Phillip worked for many years with 3M Corporation be becoming disabled. He also proudly served his country in the Alabama National Guard for more than 20 years. In his spare time, Phillip enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on cars.

Mr. Stricklin is survived by his wife, Teresa Stricklin; his son, Justin Stricklin; his brothers, Glenn and Craig Stricklin; step siblings, Allen and Elesa Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Mr. Stricklin was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Thereon Stricklin.

A memorial service for Mr. Stricklin will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. from the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Della Mae Brasseal, age 92, of Brilliant, passed away at her residence on Friday, May 8, 2026. Mrs. Brasseal was born in Winfield, AL on January 13, 1934, to the late James Abram and Maddie Langley Henderson. She was a graduate of Winfield High School. Mrs. Brasseal was saved as a child and remained faithful throughout her life. She was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church as a child and later faithfully attended First Freewill Baptist Church of Hamilton. On July 5, 1952, she married the love of her life, Allan H. Brasseal, and together they shared many cherished years of marriage and devotion to their family. Mrs. Brasseal was a line supervisor for many years with Munsingwear Industries until her retirement. Prior to her working career, she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mother, caring for her home and family. After retiring, she owned and operated a craft shop where she continued sewing for the public. She was an exceptional seamstress and often made clothes for her children. She also loved cooking, canning and gardening, and making sure those she loved were well cared for. Following retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling together, attending church, and going to gospel singings. She was also a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.

Mrs. Brasseal is survived by her children, Scott Brasseal (Wanda), Rebecca Brasseal, and Jane Brasseal Franks (Ron); grandsons, Joel Franks (Melanie), Brian Brasseal (Joann), Tommy Franks (April), and Wesley Brasseal (Joelina); great grandchildren, Caleb (Cadence), Joshua, Jonathan, and Makayla Franks, Paul, Kathryn, Ruth, Caroline, Benjiman, Hannah, and Noah Brasseal, and Isadora Dos Anjos; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brasseal was preceded in death by her husband Allan H. Brasseal; her brothers, Hilburn and Elmer Henderson; and her sisters, Erlene McCaleb and Lela Garrison.
