Ms. Melba June Palmer age 88, of Brilliant passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at her residence. Ms. Palmer was born in Brilliant, AL on August 4, 1934 to Lee and Ida Ingle Palmer. She was a member of the Haleyville Church of Christ and a 1952 graduate of Brilliant High School. Ms. Palmer spent much of her life working in the telecommunications field where she later retired after 27 years of service.

Ms. Palmer is survived by her sons, Jeff Dickinson (Edna) of Kingston, TN., David Dickinson (Beth) of Melbourne FL., and Randy Dickinson (Tina) of Phoenix AZ., daughters, Karen Long (Richard) of Fulshear TX., and Lora Dickinson of Signal Hill CA., grandchildren, Grace, Daniel, Matthew, Kirk, Alexander, Lily, Eli, William, Andrew, and Jessica, thirteen great-grandchildren and one more on the way, sister, Vernell Hahn of California, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Palmer was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifton, Leo, and J. E. Palmer and sisters, Margaret Moody, and Vivian Palmer.

Funeral services for Ms. Palmer will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Gold Mine Church of Christ Cemetery near Brilliant. The visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.
