Braden Edward Canterberry, age 17, of Brilliant, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Braden was born on July 2, 2008 in Birmingham, Alabama. Braden was the grandson of Edward and Joan Canterberry and the son of the late Brent Canterberry and Brandy Osmer Mitchell. He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church and was actively involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Braden was a senior at Brilliant High School, where he played both football and baseball. He will be deeply missed by his classmates, teammates, teachers, and all who knew him.

Braden is survived by his son, Asher Allen Canterberry; his fiancée, Anna Franks; his mother, Brandy Mitchell; his grandparents, Edward and Joan Canterberry and Michael Osmer; his half-sister, Ariel Mitchell; Kason and John Pool, who were like brothers to him; special family members, Adam and Tish Duckworth and family, Donald and Ashley Harmon and family, and Michael and Jennifer Osmer and family; along with a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Braden was preceded in death by his father, Brent Canterberry; his uncle, Trent Canterberry; and his grandparents, Kathy Osmer and Claude and Frances Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. from the Brilliant High School Gymnasium with burial to follow in Brilliant Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Classes of 2024 and 2026, along with all present and former teachers, coaches, and faculty of Brilliant Schools.
