Mrs. Robbie Fay Edge, age 96, of Eldridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield. Mrs. Edge was born in Eldridge, Alabama to Raymond and Lela McGough Norris. She was a lifelong resident of Eldridge and touched many lives through her gentle spirit and unwavering faith. A faithful member of Fern Springs Baptist Church, Robbie taught Sunday School for many years. Robbie spent her life as a homemaker, caring for her husband and children. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and, above all, spending time with her grandchildren. Robbie’s affection for children extended to all she encountered, and she was known for her gentle touch with animals of all kinds. Her later years were spent at Country Place Assisted Living Facility, where she was the resident gardener. Robbie’s homegrown tomatoes were legendary, and she gladly shared them with friends, staff, and fellow residents.
Mrs. Edge is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Tidwell (Frank); her grandchildren, Derek Tidwell, Leslie Williams (Todd), Rusty Edge, and Eric Edge (Karla); her great grandchildren, Anna and Alyssa Tidwell, Jaxon, Jonah, and Jameson Willams, Blaize Wakefield, Rivers Burgess, and Dallis and Aspen Fay Edge; her siblings, Manley Norris (Mabel), Dwight Norris, Linda Coats, Dianne Miles (James), and David Norris (Pam); and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Mrs. Edge was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bounds Edge; sons, Gregory Paul Edge and Allen Brian Edge; her parents; and her siblings, Kathleen Smothers, Alton Norris, and Burnice “Wig” Norris.
Mrs. Edge’s family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. from the Fern Springs Baptist Church. A private family burial will follow.
